Karmann Coach Builders Meeting 2013
About 30 Cheetah, Gipsy and other Karmann owners on a meeting in Matlock Midlands U.K.

VW Karmann Gipsy 1983
1983 VW Karmann Gipsy This lovely classic is going to make someone very happy. It has been lovingly looked after over its 27-year life and has the same again amount of life left in her no doubt. Covering only 55,000 miles its still smells new inside and drives faultlessly. The steering is as tight as any new car and the gearbox the same. I cannot express how good this VW is to drive. All the pedals and floor mats are in pristine condition proving further its lack of use. This Karmann is a factory coachbuilt motorhome conversion and is number 067 in the production line of 800 Gipsys. It is the more sought after Karmann motorhome over its sister the Karmann Cheetah. The joinery and woodwork is the best in its class. Karmann has a long history in producing quality products and this is no exception. Originally this VW was a 2.0 aircooled. Unfortunately these petrol engines sound great but give terrible fuel economy. The former keeper, a German army mechanic has installed a 1.9 diesel engine within the van. The engine is clean, solid and been fitted very well. Its starts on the button and pulls well. The 1.9 diesel is reliable and more desirable than the 1.6 turbo-diesel due to its extra cc and non-turbo status. Externally the Gipsy is in very good shape. There are a couple of dents here and there and some touching up has been done by its former owners. Nothing untoward or visually unappealing. There is no rust issues and for 27 years the body work can only be described as in excellent condition. This Motorhome will be newly UK registered and taxed for 6 months for the new owners. Vehicle Data • 1.9 Diesel excellent MPG and Reliability •55,000 Miles 88,000 KMs •New MOT 12 Months •UK Registered and Taxed 6 months •Captain Seats Passenger Swivels •4 Previous Owners •Garaged for most of its life in Northern Germany Interior •4 Berth Permanent double overhead cab bed and Seating area converts into another double •Hot and Cold Water •Blown air heating heats shower room also •Fully Insulated with double glazed windows •Leisure battery •Gas twin hob cooker •Large sink and taps •Large 55 liter 3 way fridge/freezer •Many cupboards and overhead storage •Shower room with unmarked shower tray •Full new Curtain set •Unmarked carpets •Interior is dry with no rot •Spot lights and strip lights •Karmann electric panel •240v interior plugs Exterior: •240v external hook up •TV Ariel •Fresh and waste water Tanks •Two roof ventilation hatches with blackout blinds •Roof Ladder •Roof Racks The price range of these Gipsies range between 4000 and 12000 GBP. At 8500 GBP it is priced in the middle but will surely hold its price and could be well worth more due to its excellent condition and low mileage. volkswagen breadbox lover フォルクスワーゲン
oddity assortment of vw boxer style pics. i am not exactly sure how to discribe my fondness for air-cooled engines and the vw 'box style' except to say that the 'majors' , " I like war " speach in ' HELLSING ultimate' part 5 , might come close.

Bought a shite heap (now known as the beast) from ebay in a moment of madness. Decided to restore it with our own hands and then drive it to Lake garda in Italy. Fools.

FOR SALE (July 2, 2013): SOLD Here's a short video showing the removal of my VW Beetle body from it's chassis. This is the first time I've attempted this solo. In the past, I've done it with the help of friends with each of us on a corner of the car. All things considered, it went pretty well. =) Hopefully someone will learn from my mistakes. The sawhorses are very similar to the ones you'll see in the BugMe videos.
