VW Karmann Gipsy 1983
1983 VW Karmann Gipsy
This lovely classic is going to make someone very happy. It has been
lovingly looked after over its 27-year life and has the same again amount
of life left in her no doubt.
Covering only 55,000 miles its still smells new inside and drives
faultlessly. The steering is as tight as any new car and the gearbox the
same. I cannot express how good this VW is to drive. All the pedals and
floor mats are in pristine condition proving further its lack of use.
This Karmann is a factory coachbuilt motorhome conversion and is number 067
in the production line of 800 Gipsys. It is the more sought after Karmann
motorhome over its sister the Karmann Cheetah.
The joinery and woodwork is the best in its class. Karmann has a long
history in producing quality products and this is no exception.
Originally this VW was a 2.0 aircooled. Unfortunately these petrol engines
sound great but give terrible fuel economy. The former keeper, a German
army mechanic has installed a 1.9 diesel engine within the van. The engine
is clean, solid and been fitted very well. Its starts on the button and
pulls well. The 1.9 diesel is reliable and more desirable than the 1.6 turbo-diesel due to its extra cc and non-turbo status.
Externally the Gipsy is in very good shape. There are a couple of dents
here and there and some touching up has been done by its former owners.
Nothing untoward or visually unappealing. There is no rust issues and for
27 years the body work can only be described as in excellent condition.
This Motorhome will be newly UK registered and taxed for 6 months for the

well worth more due to its excellent condition and low mileage.

oddity assortment of vw boxer style pics.
i am not exactly sure how to discribe my fondness for air-cooled engines
and the vw 'box style' except to say that the 'majors' , " I like war "
speach in ' HELLSING ultimate' part 5 , might come close.
1966 VW Beetle - Body Removal - One Person - Remove Body Chassis Bug - (2x Speed)
FOR SALE (July 2, 2013): SOLD
Here's a short video showing the removal of my VW Beetle body from it's
chassis. This is the first time I've attempted this solo. In the past,
I've done it with the help of friends with each of us on a corner of the
car. All things considered, it went pretty well. =) Hopefully someone
will learn from my mistakes. The sawhorses are very similar to the ones
you'll see in the BugMe videos.
