P-38 Belly tank before painting June 30, 2010
This is a video I made after rolling the car out of the shop for the first time since completing it. It is now being taken apart to paint and finish the mechanicals.
tank testdriver Steven
Steven is testing the tank, tank now has loading ramp, to roll on/off wheelchair. Tank has 2 electric motors, with a total of 700 watt (about 1 hp), one part of the movie is speeded up, goes only about 3 km/h but lots of torq.
Belly Tank First Run Loring.mov
First ever run for Belly Tank Lakester....did a 112 mph. Second run was 115 mph and both runs put Ron in the Record Books!!
Death of a turbo
Killed the Big16g and it was all my fault. A clamp wasn't bolted on straight and it died an early death. New Big16g replacement has been installed for now. Car still runs low 12's.
Blow Fish at Bonneville 2011 during Speed Week

2/5 Scale Sherman M4A3E8 Tank Test Drive Part 4
The drive train works great but near the end of the video the nut came loose and fell off the left return idler along with the wheel. Then the track on the right side came loose and the track started to roll off the sprocket. There was a second part of this video but it didn't save because the camera battery died.
