1972 Buick Suncoupe at Bowling Green, KY

This is from the 2010 GSCA Nationals event in Bowling Green, KY. The event was postponed to October from May due to the track being 20' under water. I ran a best of 12.32 during the event and took runner up of the BSA (Buick Stock Appearing)class. This car has completely stock suspension, iron heads, Exhaust manifolds (no headers) and a Rochester quadrajet carb.

It's not drop dead gorgeous like a 1959 Impala, nor does it have the panache of say a 1956 Chrysler 300. You see the '55 Buick Special was a working mans car. It had room enough for the whole family, a decent power-plant thanks to its 264 cubic inch V8, and style that was, well... above average. Harry Fisher or "Uncle Harry" as most people know him, saw the old Buick a bit differently though. He knew that with a few little touches (like a 502 cubic inch big-block, modern suspension, and a new set of wheels) that this old Buick had the potential to become one of the baddest hot-rods around.

Brought out storage,in year 2000 had 2 differant motor builds both whipe the camshafts,little known to people back then was the camshaft manufactors fault ,the cams metal was flawed,the 90's SP cams 2000.. the car goes to Bowling Green Custums in Alt GA, He has it 4 years, charges me $14,000 for Yeap,straight from his shop a Whiped camshaft!!! 2005.. Car goes to KDK Performance in FL gone billit rollor cam $8000 rebuild,car blows up 1/2 track at 110mph 3 total rebilds all i payed for,Dynoed an to the track same thing, 1/2 track garnade First Run !! 4th new motor bought an payed for, i pull car out KDK spend over $30,000 in cash an parts totaling over 3 years 2008.. I call Cal Hartline,He recommeds Lamotta performance The new motor from KDK goes striaght on the Dyno an BOOM!! headgasket launches as all the times before I asked Jake at Lamotta if he can fix it, an add GNX style dash an new Intercooler,6 months later motors done at Heartbeat racing engines,Even though Lamottoa dropped my motor to him for whatever reason i had to go pick it up.(that cost the tranny in my truck!)After Lamotta installs the motor an fires it,I called Jake an he said i quote "Its fine, ready to go"..I pick it up, Its belowing white smoke out the exshuast very 10 minutes,water temps high, oil pressuers All over the place!!!,,the dash speedo don't work, (the whole reason i had the GNX dash kit Installed!!) an the grill ,Lamotta broke the headerpanel flap so my Grill dangles in place,had to buy whole new front headlight pannel,won't mention them storing my car under a car on lift that leaked fuild $13,000 in total parts an labor back to square one Piston pin was riding up an down the #4 cylinder wall 2009.. Car stays in My Garage.. Dave at Heartbeat racing engines rebuilt an sleves the damage piston pin cylinder an i have him add GN1 stroker kit..The Motors now perfect an i have over 2000miles on it Today July 27th 2010 the cars at ProFab in Tampa having Matt inspected the suspenion along with the brakes,Possiably adding a 6 point roll cage...8^) Moral to this build,Try your Hardest to Have one All-in-One shop work on your car,Or you'll get the Third person run around,(example), Oh i'll take your car an your money,but its the machist fault or part builders fault why nothing works,pay us, blame them... 1970 Buick GSX "The Hemi Killer"
Here is the Holy Grail of the GM/Buick Musclecars and is better known as the Hemi killer. Truly one of the fastest, and rarest, musclecars of all time. Meet the beautiful 1970 Buick GSX Stage I. Largest torque rating of all 1970 cars at 510 lb/ft and a grossly underrated horsepower of 360. These cars were scary fast right off the showroom floor and few cars of the era came close to them at the strip. This desirable Saturn Yellow example has been restored from the ground up and is in period-correct, pristine condition. It has been restored according to factory specs and is currently optioned just like it was in 1970. Full numbers-matching drivetrain. This car also has won the Buick Nationals on several occasions and has done so as recently as 2007. It is unbelievably documented. We're talking Protecto-Plate, Original Framed Sales Invoice, build sheet, and a broadcast sheet that was found under the carpet. Also comes with all the original dealer paperwork and a lot of ownership history. A true southerner, it was sold new in Atlanta, GA on May 12, 1970. The buyer traded in a 1969 Buick Riviera and drove out in this musclecar legend. Only around 400 GSX Stage I's were ever produced. Own a piece of American history.
