Trans Am - First Start up, Cam Break In, and Wicked Idle
It'll be a little while before we can really see what it's got, but it sure sounds mean. The cam break-in sure was nerve racking. We're sure glad to have that part over with and hopefully things go smoothly from here on out. We still have a lot of tuning to do on the car, but I know a bunch of you were waiting to hear it run. The idle on that Howards cam definitely sounds plenty healthy. From the little bit of accelerating we did from 2500 RPM to 4200 RPM, it feels like it's going to be a strong runner. We're going to take it easy for a bit though and break it in well. Thanks for watching, we'll have more updates coming soon!

132152 / 1970 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air IV
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/bmsk3es This spectacular, 100% numbers matching 1970½ Trans Am Ram Air IV is one of only 59 built with a 4-speed, and fully documented with a build sheet. A life-long west coast car, this was one of only 24 RA IV cars built at the Van Nuys assembly plant. Gaps are exemplary, panel fit is very good, and this might be the most well assembled early F-body I've ever seen. The Polar White paint matches the factory finish exactly, and the decals are reproductions. Out back, the ducktail spoiler fits beautifully and carries the correct TRANS AM insignia. Simply selecting RPO 342 got you the famed 370-horsepower round-port Ram Air IV engine, which delivered much more than simply an advertised 25 hp over the standard D-port Ram Air III engine. Atop that intake and under the solenoid-operated scoop, the Rochester Quadrajet carburetor makes its home. The cylinder heads are 614 castings, the block is a correct WW unit, the intake is a correct 97999 casting, and the unique Ram Air IV Exhaust manifolds have been beautifully refinished. The Muncie M20 4-speed manual is the original, matching numbers piece, while out back, the RA IV was the only Firebird to receive a 12-bolt rear end as standard equipment (this one is packed with 3.73 gears and a Posi for explosive acceleration). The heavy-duty power disc brakes have been fully rebuilt, and correct F41-spec shocks are at all four corners. It's finished off with a set of original date-coded Rally II wheels and Firestone Wide Ovals. This one sports its original code 211 Medium Bright Blue Vinyl interior. The seats and door panels have been reconditioned and re-dyed, but the carpets are spectacularly original, as is the headliner. The trunk features that fitted floor mat, as well as a full-sized spare tire with complete jack assembly. One of the rarest Pontiacs ever built, with low original miles, 100% matching numbers, and a ton of documentation. 132856 / 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/cty9h5l This fully sorted 1973 Firebird Trans Am is one of those cars that everyone has asked us to find for the last three years. It's a documented, early F2 'bird which features all original California sheetmetal, a tough 4-speed transmission and, best of all, a highly desirable, numbers matching 455 V8. Assembled at GM's famous Norwood manufacturing facility in November of 1972, this awesome 'big block bird' was shipped across the country to Corey Pontiac in Salinas, California where it began a 35 year existence filled with immaculate maintenance and impeccable care. Today, still wearing all of its original, rust-free body panels, it displays a nice looking coat of GM code 11 Cameo White paint on top of smooth and solid surfaces that have never been damaged in any significant way. Take a look under this Trans Am's new-for-1973 black and blue "Screaming Chicken" hood decal and you'll find an original 455 cubic inch L-75 V8 which wears a correct 485428 casting number, a September (I) 11th (11) of 1972 (2) casting date, a correct 102185 partial VIN and a "ZC" California engine stamp. At 455 cubic inches, the L-75 was already one of the largest engines you could buy in 1973; and by utilizing an undersquare bore and new "4X" heads, it managed to meet ever increasing emissions standards while still turning a solid 8 to 1 compression ratio into 260 horsepower and a stump pulling 370 lb./ft. of torque! At the top of the motor, a reliable 4-barrel carburetor sucks air through pliable piping that scavenges a cool breeze from the car's left front fender. Below that carburetor, correct Pontiac turquoise paint coats the entire engine block, a correct points distributor sends fire through high quality Belden high temperature plug wires; and original Exhaust manifolds send spent gases into a high performance aftermarket Exhaust system. At the bottom of this slick second generation Trans Am, solid floorpans reflect years of sunny California living; and a fully sorted suspension tells the story of excellent maintenance and very little storage time. Behind the monster motor, a virtually indestructible Borg Warner 4-speed transmission sends power to a correct 10 bolt Posi-traction rear end which does a great job on both the back roads and the interstate. Below that stellar powertrain, a rebuilt Trans Am suspension, which includes power steering, thicker sway bars, better shocks and stiffer springs, combines with standard issue power front disc brakes and rear drums to provide quick stops and great handling. All this road ready hardware rolls on a rare set of Pontiac honeycomb wheels which spin 235/60 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around pristine arrowhead center caps. Open this Pontiac's straight white doors and you'll find a fully restored blue interior which does an excellent job of complementing the car's bright blue Trans Am call outs! The rebuilt Morrokide vinyl bucket seats are supple, firm, and look every bit as nice and rich as their exotic name implies. Below those seats, like-new blue carpet, which is carefully protected by factory replacement floor mats, displays no fading or unraveling; and between the seats, a molded blue console props an enclosed storage bin behind a chrome Hurst shifter. At the top of the car, a stain-free headliner is stretched tight from the front window to the back window. And at the sides of the car, standard blue door panels hang pristine chrome door handles between chrome window cranks and vinyl armrests. In front of the driver, an excellent looking engine turned dash houses crystal clear gauges, controls for heater, and a modern Sony CD player behind a black Formula steering wheel that's complete with a blue horn button. And behind the cockpit, a fully restored trunk hangs correct decklid decals above a new houndstooth mat. If you're in the market for an old school Trans Am that is the quintessential American muscle car; here it is. 132663 / 1978 Pontiac Trans Am SE
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/6nenvtw All original from its Hurst T-tops down to its factory Exhaust and white letter tires, this completely documented 16,800 mile 1978 Trans Am Special Edition has been stored in a climate controlled facility all of its life and has all the right stuff you have been looking for. Assembled at GM's Norwood Ohio manufacturing facility in December of 1977, this pristine Special Edition Trans Am was delivered to Hansord Pontiac Company in Minneapolis Minnesota and purchased on January 10th 1978 by the same dedicated owner that would keep it for close to 33 years. Today, the car presents as practically brand new with a spectacular coat of original GM code 19 Starlight Black paint that covers 100% original body panels which are as solid and straight as the day they left the showroom floor. Under the hood you'll find this Trans Ams all original 6.6 liter W72 V8 which was the largest muscle car engine you could buy in 1978. Thanks to government mandated emissions standards, performance had almost been legislated out of existence, and that left the Trans Am suffering a bit of an identity crisis. By utilizing smaller "6X" heads from a 350 and a revised camshaft, the W72 created higher compression and successfully reversed almost a decade of declining horsepower numbers. At the top of the motor, an original Rochester 4 barrel carburetor sits under the cars awesome shaker scoop. Below that carburetor, original GM corporate blue paint coats the entire block and original Exhaust manifolds send Exhaust into a high performance factory Exhaust system. All the hard parts around the motor, from the belt driven accessories to the brake Booster and air conditioning hanging on the fire wall are factory original; and as expected tags, markings and stamps are just where they should be from the date coded core support to the gold painted cowl tag. At the bottom of this Trans Am, a solid and clean all original undercarriage tells the story of years of excellent maintenance and low miles. Behind the motor, an original turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed automatic transmission sends power to the cars original 10 bolt rear end which still retains its original metal maintenance tag. The original Trans Am suspension, which includes power steering, thicker sway bars, better shocks and stiffer springs combines with power front disc brakes and rear drums to provide quick stops and great handling. The car even still carries its ORIGINAL power Boosting dual Exhaust system which barks out a deep vintage sound that most modern Flowmaster and Dynomax mufflers simply can't duplicate. All of the cars hardware and bushings appear to be in good shape and out back, a new stainless fuel tank is solid and leak free. At the corners, original aluminum Pontiac snow flake wheels wear the cars ORIGINAL 225/70 Uniroyal White Letter tires and are adorned with Special Edition exclusive gold paint and 'gold bird' center caps. Open this Trans Ams massive black doors and you'll find the cars original optional velour interior that sports Special Edition exclusive gold trim. The cars original seats are firm, crisp and look every bit as nice and rich as their velour name implies. Below the seats, the cars black carpet which has been carefully protected by factory rubber floor mats, displays no fading or unraveling at all. Between the seats a silver trimmed black console houses a storage bin behind the cars automatic shifter, and above the seats, a stain free headliner is stretched tight around the cars Hurst T-tops. In front of the driver, an excellent looking engine turned gold dash houses crystal clear gauges above controls for heat and air conditioning and the cars original Delco-GM AM/FM stereo. At the sides of the seats, pitch black door panels feature pristine stainless and chrome handles for both the doors and windows. Connecting the driver to the road is a correct gold steering wheel with a black rim and a correct gold screaming chicken horn button that perfectly matches the cars correct gold screaming chicken shift knob. If you're in the market for a kick ass Trans Am that is the quintessential late 70s American muscle car; here it is. Grab it fast and thank us in ten years as you watch its value climb!
