O "Stand Emanuel Costa/Cibercar/Castrol" iniciou da melhor forma o "ataque" à terceira edição do Troféu Ibérico ao vencer a jornada inaugural, depois da aposta na nova imagem "conseguida" para o Jeep Wrangler dom piloto de Penafiel. Após uma ardua "luta" de candidatos, Stand Candeias começou da melhor forma a defesa do título conquistado na edição anterior, obtendo o melhor tempo no decorrer dos treinos cronometrados e a consequente primeira linha da grelha de partida. Com um arranque demolidor, a dupla Paulo Candeias/Carlos Filipe chegou a deter uma vantagem de duas voltas, com apenas 45 minutos de prova, altura em que a mecânica do Jeep TJ - manga de eixo, cedeu.
