WORLDS FASTEST street legal ELECTRIC CAR
SUBSCRIBE! Learn about EV technology: http://www.electric-vehiclenews.com/ Worlds fastest street legal ELECTRIC CAR 1972 Datsun 1200 Whtie Zombie. This car is based in Oregon... there are something like 18 hydro electric power plants in that state! Hydro generation accounts for 58% of all electricity in Oregon (Over 70% in Washington) and coal accounts for less than 7%. Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it costs just $1.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at $20.00 per 100kms. EVs use between 1/6th and 1/10th the energy of a comparable ICE powered car. Owner: • Gordon Tronson In the world of hot-rodding there are few cars that are going to leave as big an impression as this - the 1927 Ford Model T custom simply known as "Double-Trouble". It rides on a custom-built tube chassis that's fabricated from 1.5-inch tube. Is powered by two 4.6-liter modular V8s from Ford with four, count 'em, FOUR Superchargers for an approximate power output of around 1,200 hp. Martin Stamatis 4.577 329.10 mph (529.63 kmh) drag race
Western Australian Martin Stamatis became the fastest Australian drag racer at the recent Sydney Summernationals on Saturday February 16 when he blasted his Fastlane Software Jim Read Racing top fuel dragster to a top speed of 329.10 mph (529.63 kmh) down the WSID quarter mile. The fastest speed recorded by an Australian on Aussie soil was previously held by his team mate, Phil Read who ran 329.02 mph (529.51 kmh) at the 2006 Boxing Day International Top Fuel Challenge. Although the margin may be minimal to some, for Stamatis the speed was a great personal achievement for him and his hard working team, and the 4.577 second ET from the run is also now only just behind Phil Read's personal best of time 4.571 seconds, leaving the entire Read team really pumped. Stamatis and his team then went on to win the meeting, and are now looking forward to the next top fuel round due to be held in Sydney on May 2 and 3.
