WCCC Open House / Cruise / BBQ / Great Oregon Steam-Up 2011
Every year in August we have an open house at West Coast Classic Cougar. We are based just outside of Salem, Oregon, and have a wrecking yard full of 67-73 Cougars, and a warehouse full of new and used Cougar parts.
It's a two-day event that usually takes place on a Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we have our open house and a small car show. Then in the evening, we cruise over to Silverton for a barbecue at our friend Brian's place in the middle of open farmland. Finally, on Saturday, we attend the Great Oregon Steam-Up at Antique Powerland, located close by our shop in Brooks. This year we had a reserved space for Cougars. There is an endless amount of cool antique machinery to see at this show.

West Coast Custom Cougars [S4 Ep.13-2]
Today on GEARZ, Stacey rolls the V8 Interceptor/ Cougar back into the shop
and begins upgrading the rear end and rear suspension to handle all the
massive power that has been stuffed under the hood. The parts are flyin' as
in goes a custom 3-link torque arm suspension, a 9" Ford rear end, and a
tubular sub-frame to prevent the car from flexing. If you have a classic Mustang or Cougar, you're

A Day In The Life At WCCC
This is an informal video we shot to give you an idea of what it's like at
West Coast Classic Cougar on a daily basis. Meet the employees, walk around
the facility and get to know us. We're a random assortment of colorful
human beings who exist only to provide you with Cougar parts and knowledge.
1967 Cougar Headlight Vacuum Solenoid Tips, Tricks, Do's and Don'ts
We snuck into Brian's garage while he was away and filmed this
informational video on the unique 1967 headlight vacuum solenoid. It's a
complicated and temperamental little device that you can ruin easily if
you don't know what you're doing. Our goal with this video is to help you
understand how this solenoid works, and some of the "do's and don'ts" of
testing and installing them.

1968 Cougar 427 GT-E at Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale 2011
This is the story of Brian Aust and his 1968 Mercury Cougar 427 GT-E. Over
the course of about 5 years, he undertook a painstaking restoration to
bring the car to the highest level he could, with a little help from his
friends (and lots of advice from folks on http://www.mercurycougar.net ).
On January 22, 2011, he drove it onto the auction block at Barrett-Jackson,
stepped out, and watched it sell for... well, you'll just have to watch to

Rusty Roof Replacement - 1968 Cougar
If you have an old car that came with a vinyl top, chances are that you
have some rust issues in the roof. This was the case with Andrew's car - a
1968 Mercury Cougar that his grandparents bought brand new in '68. In this
video, Andrew takes matters into his own hands to replace his rusted roof

COUGAR TEST DRIVE
badassness. this is my 67 cougar xr7. it has a rebuilt 289 .30 over. pretty
hot mild cam. 500cfm edelbrock carb. aluminum ford racing intake. rebuilt
c4 automatic transmission. turboExhaust made by summit. hedman headers. its
running a little rich in this video my step dad says. this is my first car
and so far all i learned from cars is from building this beast so i have no
clue what running rich sounds like haha. but i know this things kicks
pretty hard. havent got a chance to really open her up yet because i still
need to break in the motor. theres less than 50 miles on the rebuilt motor
and transmission. all the front suspension is done and steering parts are
on their way and will be done. found a crack in the shock tower i will need
to get welded before alignment but thats not too big of a problem. more
videos to come.
