2014 Subaru Forester and XT Turbo 0-60 MPH First Drive Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2014 Subaru Forester and the 2014 Subaru
Forester XT are now 4th generation cars. This means that they have a strong
and loyal following from a built in customer base. And when a car has been
around a long time and it still continues to sell well most automakers are
loathed to change it very much. And this is certainly the case with the new
2014 Forester which has grown slightly bigger but still carries on both
inside and outside the design and engineering of the current model. In this
TFLcar First Drive Review we see just how fast the XT turbo is 0-60 MPH. Thanks to Subaru and Sean
Maynard for providing some of the video footage for this review.
2014 Subaru Forester XT Muddy Off-Road Drive & Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2014 Subaru Forester 2.0XT is a family
hauler with the ground clearance of a Jeep Wrangler and Subaru's well know
symmetric all-wheel-drive system. Recently we took the 2014 Subaru Forester
off-road in one of the worst Colorado snow storms of the year and we
quickly go the Forester stuck. Without proper snow tires, this unfair to
the Forester so we waited a few days until the snow melted and tried again
in the mud. How did the new 2014 Subaru Forester do when the trail turned
muddy and very wet. Watch this off-road review to find out.
2014 Subaru Forester off-road snowy Misadventure & Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2014 Subaru Forester 2.0XT is bigger and
more fuel efficient than the previous model...but is as off-road worthy? We
decided to find out in one of the worst Colorado snow storms of the year by
taking it up our usual test trail. Of course the turbo-charged Forester 2.0XT that we tested came
with all-season 18 inch tires and a new CVT transmission. In our real
world testing we review the car as it is provided to us by the
manufacturer. We also drive the car the way most buyers will and that means
with the stock tires. So how did the new 2014 Subaru Forester do in the
snowy Colorado Rockies? Watch this video to find out.
2011 Toyota RAV4 vs Subaru Forester muddy mashup review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2011 Toyota RAV4 and the 2011 Subaru Forester
2.5XT turbo both cost about 30K , both
can seat five people and both can go off-road with their very capable all
wheel drive set up. But which one of these two competing new crossover's is
the better buy? That's the question we try to answer in this off-road
2hp: Subaru Forester 2014 vs Honda CR-V
2hp editor-in-chief Raul takes us through the latest incarnations of the
Subaru Forester and the Honda CR-V AWD. Both are extremely popular, both
Japanese, both crossovers, so how to separate them? Raul uses well-tried
2hp test method to choose the winner.

2014 Subaru Forester Review - Kelley Blue Book
Born in 1997 the Subaru Forester was ahead of the curve when it comes to
straddling vehicle categories. These days Subaru's tall wagon has morphed
into something more akin to small crossovers like the Honda CR-V, Toyota
RAV4 and Ford Escape. Regardless of how it's labeled the 2014 Subaru
Forester remains ideally crafted for small suburban families, winter
travelers, and outdoorsy types alike.

an.

"It's not the best looking SUV out there, but the Subaru Forester is
practical, rugged and reliable."
Subaru has always excelled at rugged, no frills SUVs. The new Forester
picks up where the old one left off, but offers more interior space,
sharper handling and smart looks.
As you can see the boot is a decent size, larger than a Nissan Qashqai with
a flat load lip and with the seats folded as easily as pulling this lever
standard on all but the cheapest you can transport larger items.
Thanks to a lowered floor there is also more room for passengers, headroom
and legroom is plentiful and these big wide opening doors make it easy to
get in and out.
In fact the whole cabin is larger because the front pillars have been moved
forwards and for items that you don't put in the boot, there is a large
cubby hole here. The new Forester definitely lives up to practical
reputation built by previous models as there is more storage here and here.
There is enough adjustment in the seat to find a comfortable driving
position, and on that note...
The first place I wanted to drive was off road, the 4x4 system adapts to
whatever conditions you are driving in (perfect for the rough British
winter), and features hill hold and downhill aid functions as standard.
Plus the suspension settings are well judged keeping things comfortable on
Minimising body roll in the corners on tarmac. Combine that with the good
throttle response, lower centre of gravity and more rigid body and the
Forester has an improved drive over the 3rd generation it replaces. If it's
towing that you will be doing then this car can tow 2 tonnes and is fitted
with a stabilisation system to keep things under control when your trailer
or caravan is attached.
Now though it is time to talk about its negative points. I will start with
the steering. Although light it offers very little feedback. The the CVT
automatic gearbox is not smooth and is a bit whiny. But the real whining
will come from your purse because despite fuel consumption and performance
coming on leaps and bounds in recent years, sadly the Forester's figures do
not fare well against the competition. You will be lucky to get 28 miles to
the gallon out of the 2.0 litre petrol, so you could go for the diesel
which returns a more acceptable 49 miles to the gallon, but that's still
some way behind the Mazda CX-5 and Ford Kuga.
Inside, there are some cheap looking buttons and switches, however let's
not forget what type of vehicle this is, it's a rugged, fit for purpose,
hard wearing Subaru with a loyal following by those that love its
workmanlike charm. And for that reason, it's sure to win the heart of those
wanting a dependable, reliable and practical SUV.
