http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda6/2014/?id=32972 The 2014 Mazda6 combines a technological advanced SKYACTIV engine, refined exterior, and exciting driving characteristics into one great all around package. This 3rd generation Mazda6 builds on the success of its predecessors while still maintaining an affordable base price at $20,880. If you have to buy a new sedan then might as well go for one that looks great!
The mid-sized sedan segment is not very exciting even though it is quite competitive. Most vehicles in this category all have the same styling and can get lost in a sea of the mundane. But the 2014 Mazda6 could be the exception. Mazda is a passionate car company looking to make fun automobiles.
The exterior of the Mazda6 has been completely redesigned. Gone is the smiley grille replaced by a much more vertical and pronounced piece. This great new look can be seen on other Mazda vehicles, most notably the CX-5. While most manufacturers are moving to the cab forward design, Mazda has instead gone for a cab rearward look by stretching the sheet metal. The lines on the side seem to keep flowing. This car is not just about form; the new model also uses a lot more high strength steel. Mazda has made a conscious effort to convert the Mazda6 from a regular mid-sized car into a premium car. From the back the simple design looks very upscale, almost like a Lexus ES.
On the inside Mazda has done a lot to compliment the outside. The gauges and instrument panel have all been updated. The 2014 Mazda6 is available in 3 trim levels: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. The higher the trim level the more standard features you get.
You probably have heard about SKYACTIV technology on many of the new Mazda vehicles. This powerplant has now made its way onto the 2014 Mazda6 making the car more fuel efficient. The engine is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is excellent at 26 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway.
The 2014 Mazda6 can satisfy a whole range of automotive shoppers; from those who just need a commuter car to the enthusiast looking for a fun daily driver.

2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring Road Test Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda6/2014/?id=32972 The third generation
Mazda6 is set to compete in a very competitive automotive segment; the
mid-sized sedan category. Thankfully Mazda has given the 2014 Mazda6 a
complete redesign inside and out featuring SKYACTIV Technology and the KODO
Design Theme. The Grand Touring model tested in this review video is the
top of the line and has a base price of $29,495.
The Mazda6 has never really been a hit with regular consumers, but
enthusiasts have always appreciated its driving dynamics. Hopefully the
number of upgrades Mazda has made will make this car compelling. There are
3 different trims available: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. Mazda also
offers a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic on the
lower 2 trims.
The 2014 Mazda6 features the new KODO Design Philosophy that new Mazda
vehicles are using. Key highlights of the KODO design include the scowling
headlights, 5-point front grille, and flowing front fender lines. The
wheels are 19-inch silver alloys. The rear of the car has also received a
Out back the SKYACTIV Technology Badge hints at the powerplant under the
hood. The engine is a direct injected 2.5 liter 4-cylinder with a
compression ratio designed to maximize fuel economy. Power checks in at 184
horsepower and 185
lb-ft. of torque while fuel economy figures are 26 MPG in the city and 38
MPG on the highway. SKACTIV also refers to the engineering philosophy
behind the car which is pull as much weight out as possible to make the car
more responsive while maximizing fuel economy.
Driving dynamics are wonderful. Grip, ride, and handling capabilities are
all extraordinary even with the large 19-inch wheels and sport tires.
Mazda's are known for their sporty ride quality but the Mazda6 feels fairly
compliant on the road. There is a lot of communication coming to the driver
from the suspension and steering.
On the inside the 2014 Mazda6 comes with an 8-way adjustable power seat for
the driver. The center display with navigation is crystal clear. Mazda has
made an excellent car that should stand out compared to the tough
competition. When it comes to the redesigned 2014 Mazda6 what you get is
one of the most fuel efficient cars in its class, one of the safest, one of
the most stylish, and one of the most fun to drive; coupled with an
affordable price tag. If you are shopping for a mid-size sedan then you
must at lease test drive the 2014 Mazda6.

2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL Test Drive & V-6 Sedan Video Review
The Nissan Altima is not the most exciting car in the company's line-up
when you think about cars like the GTR or the 370Z. But the Nissan Altima
is a more utilitarian car that gets the job done day in and day out. Nissan
has done a good job of tying the styling together throughout the family.
The 2014 Nissan Altima does have its sporty cues with the sharp cut
headlights, aggressive spindle grille, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Gone is
the coupe model leaving behind only the 4-door sedan and its 7 different
trim levels that are priced between $21,860 $30,660.
Find out more about the 2014 Nissan Altima
The base model cars are powered by a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder. The model tested
here is the king-of-the-hill 3.5 SL which has a 3.5 liter V-6 under the
hood that makes 270 horsepower and 251 lb-ft. of
torque which is plenty for a passenger sedan. The CVT trans helps the
Altima V-6 achieve 22 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
Just as the outside of the 2014 Nissan Altima has grown up and matured, so
too has the interior space. This top of the line car is packed with a ton
of goodies like a Touch Screen Navigation Unit, Backup Camera, Heated
Seats, Steering Wheel mounted controls, and more. The Nissan tows the line
between sport and comfort as a passenger car.
If you are thinking about the Altima just know you are getting a far
superior car than the cheaper siblings like the Versa and Sentra. There is
an Altima out there that can fit the needs of most car shoppers.

2013 Mazda2 Test Drive & Sub-Compact Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/mazda2/2013/?id=32972 With gas prices on the
never ending rise, subcompact cars like the 2013 Mazda2 are becoming more
popular. 10 years ago there were few of these vehicles on the market. Now
it seems every manufacturer is looking to gain some ground in this niche.
The Mazda2 is one of the more popular subcompact cars thanks to its low
cost, good gas mileage ratings, and fun to drive characteristics. In
Europe, subcompact cars are the norm; but here in the U.S. they are just
now beginning to have an impact. The 2013 Mazda2 has a base price of
The Mazda2 started life out in Japan, Europe, and Australia back in 2007.
But this little car can trace its roots back to the late 1990's as the
Demio. The Mazda2 appeared here in the U.S. as a 2011 model. Usually
subcompact cars are bland and boring little appliances suited for
monotonous driving situations. The Mazda2 is just the opposite as this
little car is filled with style as evident by some of the extreme optional
Up front the Mazda2 still has the happy face bumper treatment that many
Mazda's vehicles share. Going forward though; look for a more aggressive
look as evident by the new 2014 Mazda6 redesign. There are some sporty
touches with the lower lip on the front fascia and the sharp looking
headlights. The 2013 Mazda2 share a lot of the design elements seen on its
larger siblings like the puffed out fenders and the side character line.
This car also gets 15-inch alloy wheels standard. Out back the roof spoiler
finishes off a pretty exciting exterior look for the subcompact car class.
Under the hood is a 1.5 liter MZR 4-cylinder engine capable of producing
100 horsepower and
98 lb-ft. of torque. That may not sound like much but keep in mind the 2013
Mazda2 is a feather weight at just over 2300 lbs. Fuel economy is great at
29 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway with the 5-speed manual.
The interior is almost the opposite as the exterior. The inside of the
Mazda2 is simple and minimalistic. But again this is the most entry level
vehicle Mazda makes so we are not expecting much. Surprisingly the 2013
Mazda2 does come with some nice features including: BlueTooth, IPod
connectivity, Steering wheel controls, air conditioning, and nice

2014 Mazda CX-5 2.5 Liter SKYACTIV Test Drive & Compact Crossover Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mazda/cx-5/2014/mpg/?id=32972 When the Mazda CX-5
hit the market last year it gained huge support and enjoyed wonderful press
and publicity. Now for the 2014 model, Mazda has added SKYACTIV technology
to this compact crossover SUV making it more desired than ever. Not only
does the 2014 Mazda CX-5 offer great fuel economy, it offers a wonderful
driving experience, and tons of utility at an affordable price. The cost of
this new CX-5 is $21,195.
Mazda's reiteration of the 2014 CX-5 does not look that different on the
outside. The big changes have to do with the SKYACTIV technology under the
hood. The big news for 2014 is the addition of the 2.5 liter 4-cylinder
SKYACTIV engine. You can still get the smaller 2.0 liter engine on the base
model sport, but the Touring and Grand Touring trims get this great new
engine. Power is up almost 30 HP over the smaller engine as the 2.5 liter
produces 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. of
torque. Fuel economy figures are hardly affected and the 2014 Mazda CX-5
still manages 25 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. The 6-speed
automatic transmission is also a SKYACTIV unit. More power and practically
the same fuel economy equals a win win for Mazda.
On the outside, gone are the days of the big smiling happy faced Mazda
automobiles. The new KODO design style is aggressive and sharp. The front
of the 2014 Mazda CX-5 makes it one of the best looking crossovers out
there with the sharp cut headlamps, lower chin spoiler, and attractive
grille. The flared fenders and arches look very sporty especially when
combined with the 17-inch silver aluminum rims. Out back the stance of the
2014 Mazda CX-5 looks wide and low. The sporty design matches the equally
sporty driving characteristics.
Even though the 2014 Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover SUV, there is still
a ton of utility and practicality despite the compact size. As with most
Mazda vehicles the cabin is very driver focused. This vehicle prides itself
on being enjoyable to drive. The layout is nice and the 5.8 inch touch
screen is adequate. The real heart of any Mazda is sitting in the driver's
seat. This is where you get to experience the Zoom Zoom appeal at its
This 2014 Mazda CX-5 is a wonderful package. You hit the gas and it goes
thanks to the responsive transmission. Mazda is really doing great things
with the SKYACTIV technology from the chassis, to the suspension, the
engine and transmission all come together to create an award winning car.
There are some serious competitors in this segment like the: Honda CR-V,
Toyota RAV4, and the Ford Escape. The 2014 Mazda CX-5 is a great driver's
car that is easy to live with all day long.

2013 Mazda3 vs Jeep Wrangler Snowstorm Winter Tire Mashup Test
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 Mazda3 and the new Jeep Wrangler don't
have a lot on common. In fact they are about as different as two cars can
be. The Jeep Wrangler is an old school body on frame off-road behemoth
while the Mazda3 is a perky small run about. So which one of these is
better in the snow? We decided to find out in another fun and interesting
TFLcar mashup test. To make it a fair contest we of course got a set of
dedicated snow tires for the front-wheel-drive Mazda but kept the stock set
of all season tires on the 4X4 Jeep. To make it even more fair we kept the
jeep Wrangler in two-wheel-drive and headed to Lick Skillet Road (America's
steepest country Road) in a snowstorm. So which of these two cars conquered
the Colorado Mountain road? You'll have to watch this video to find out.
2014 Mazda6 Drive and Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2014 Mazda6 is one of the most
attractive, front-drive, four-door vehicles out on the road today. The
Skyactive, 2.5-liter engine is wonderfully efficient returning 30 mpg
combined while providing enough power to make one smile. This is a special
car and Mazda deserves kudos for building it! In another TFLcar review,
Nathan finds out just how fast the new 2014 Mazda6 will go from 0-60 MPH.

Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF
This week we look at Mazda's new CamCord fighter the all-new 2014 Mazda6.
Can Mazda pull off a solid mid-sized sedan after their divorce from the
Blue Oval? Joins us as we find out. We got our hands on the 2.5L iGrand
Touring version. Since iLoop had not been released officially yet be sure
to check back when we get our hands on that extremely mild hybrid system.
2014 brings Mazda's new corporate grille to the Mazda6, and I have to say,
it's a beautiful schnoz. I was a little worried the gaping maw would be too
large in person, (in pictures it looks enormous) but up-close-and-personal
it has to be the second most attractive front end after the Fusion. Beauty
is in the eye of the beholder, but during the week I was unable to find
anyone who disagreed with me. So my opinion reigns supreme. I'm worried
however, the proportions look perfect on the Mazda6, so what will the
Mazda3 be like? Why am I worried? Because if you park the Mazda6 next to a
CX-9 or CX-5, the crossovers look more cartoonish than if they park alone.
Just like your girlfriend seems pretty until you park her next to Megan
Fox. Although the 2014 model looks longer than the outgoing Mazda6, overall
length has been cut by about two inches. Adding "visual length" as well as
much-needed rear seat room, the wheelbase has been stretched by two inches
Mazda's nose may be a notch below the Ford in my style-guide, but out back
it's a different story. I find the Fusion's rump to be a little awkward.
It's almost as if Ford ran out of time and "hurried" the back end of their
family hauler. Not so with the Mazda6 which has a finished look from the
"raised eyebrow" tail lamps to the twin chrome Exhausts. Thanks to the best butt in the
business, I call the Ford v. Mazda beauty contest a tie. How about the
Koreans? I never warmed to the Sonata, but the Optima is aggressive and
attractive, just not as emotional as the Mazda6. Thanks to the low sales
volume, the Mazda is also a step outside the ordinary, something that
Something that has confused reporters in the past is Mazda's new
transmission. Some describe it as a hybrid between a dual clutch and a
traditional automatic, some have even suggested that it can "disable" the
torque converter. In addition to the 6-speed manual transmission you can
opt for the SkyActiv branded traditional automatic transaxle. Traditional?
What about the fancy clutches? Here's what Mazda did.
Lock-up torque converters are nothing new, having been introduced in 1949,
but in our age of efficiency companies are using them more aggressively. By
locking the impeller and turbine (input and output) of the torque
converter, you increase efficiency by cutting most of the impelling losses
in the torque converter (there are still some because it's still spinning,
but it's greatly reduced). Old transmissions only did this in their final
gear and relatively infrequently. Modern automatics like GM/Ford's 6-speed
transaxle spend about half their time in lock-up and will engage the
locking "clutch" in most gears. Mazda's new slushbox is programmed with an
aggressive lockup agenda and will lock in every gear. In addition, it
spends more time in lockup (80% or more) than a competitive unit on the
same driving cycle. The result is a more connected 1:1 relationship between
the engine and wheels than you find in a CamFusCord.
