Tesla Cybertruck vs. Lamborghini Urus – Drag Race

December 13th, 2023

This is another entry in the Tesla Cybertruck series. With the Cybertruck hitting the streets, it’s time to see how it compares with other high-performance trucks and SUVs. This time we are pitting the all-electric Tesla against the gasoline powered Lamborghini Urus. This should be one heckuva race.

The all-wheel drive Tesla Cybertruck only looks like it’s from Mars. It really comes from Texas. This futuristic workhorse is powered by a trio of electric motors that can generate the equivalent of 845hp. Despite weighing 6,800-pounds, the Cybertruck (Cyberbeast version) can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in under 11-seconds. Top speed is 130 mph. This beast rides on 35-inch tires and is capable of 17-inches of ground clearance. The Cyberbeast might seem expensive at $100K, but not when you consider that the Urus costs more than twice that.

Ah, the Lamborghini Urus. If there has ever been a place where rugged dependability meets luxury, the Urus is it. Plush leather and premium features abound in the Urus. Under the hood is a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that can produce 650hp at peak RPM. The all-wheel drive Urus can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1-seconds at a curb weight of 4,850-pounds. This beautiful Italian can eclipse the 1320 in 11.3-seconds @ 121 mph. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.

Enough gum bumping. Time to get these brush jumpers on the racetrack.
