SUBTLE Wins Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals
It may be SUBTLE by name but Jeremy Callaghan's twin turbo Torana is anything but subtle. Even though it's not the quickest car in the class the Torana swept all before it during the Chicago Shootout in Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals and then defeeated the Perko Torana in the finals. A solid win from a very cool looking car
Summernats 25 - Day Three
Having trouble loading this file up. hopefully this time it works.
Okay guys, I finally got this to load up. All the action from Friday with
unveiling, bands and plenty of cruising. What a huge day!
WTOFIT - Crazy Rotary Powered Van Burnout
We popped in to the Good Fryday Burnout at Sydney Dragway to check out the
action and found this totally insane little rotary powered Suzuki van
ripping a few skids. Check out that glowing Exhaust. We've seen a few hot systems in our
time but never one that glowed so brightly.
STREET MACHINE NATIONALS 2011
Held at Sydney Dragway the Street Machine Nationals combined the best bits
of the modified car scene with burnouts, show cars, pro street drag racing
and hot women. With all the best Pro Street cars, shows cars, and cool
streeters it was a pretty awesome weekend. Can't wait until next year.
Jake Edwards, turbocharged Torana
Jake's single turbo Torana is legendary
in Australia. His ability to crank out big horsepower numbers from
relatively simple combinations defies belief. It's an awesome sounding car
Not sure of the specs when this video was shot because he's had several
motors, but it's a Holden V8 between 308 and 393ci with a large Holset
Kandos Street Machine & Hot Rod show 2011
Kandos is a small village 3hrs north-west of Sydney but once a year it
rumbles to the sound of a roaring V8 as streetcar enthusiasts from all
around converge to fry some tyres, churn some grass and generally have a
great time. Here's a snippet of the action from the weekend. Enjoy!
Blast From The Past - 1BADTD V8 Gemini at Easternats
Who would have thought that you could get so much smoke out an old Holden
Gemini? Phil Youlten's legendary 1BADTD is freaking burnout weapon and it
always put on a strong show where ever it went. This was from Easternats at
Sandown back in 2006, I've just dug it out of the archives because it was
such a killer skid. Enjoy.
Karl Wicht's Insane Procharged Hatchback Torana
We've been waiting to see this beast run ever since we heard about it being
in the build. Karl Wicht has decided to stand out from the crowd and while
most are going twin turbo he's gone for
a front mounted Procharger set-up. The engine is a Dandy Engines-built
555ci big block chev (Merlin III block) with an 131mm F3R Procharger and it
runs on Roo16 fuel with a Steve Petty-tuned Big Stuff 3 EFI set-up.
Karl's has relatively little seat time in this car but he's gradually
getting the hang of how much power he's got and I reckon we'll see 6-sec
and 200mph very shortly.
Holden Stato Backs It Off The Pad At High Speed
What a way to enter... and exit... the burnout pad. This Stato pilot flicks
his luxo barge into the pad at high speed and exits out the other side.
We're suprised he didn't rip anything off as he flew over that drainage
Perry Bullivant's Twin Turbo Torana
At Winton last year we saw Perry Bullivant decimate the competition in the
Powerskid category. But back then he was running 434 cubes and a Vortech
Now he's packing something really special and although it was brand new and
just running 10psi Boost, Perry's
new 406ci twin turbo combination had
everyone talking. It looks great and sounds awesome and it makes some power
as well and with 650rwhp it has to be making around 850hp at the crank.
Imagine what it's going to do when he pumps 20psi Boost into it?
ANARCY - Blown Torana Hatch
Harry Joss from Queensland gives his blown 355 Holden powered Torana
hatchback a solid workout at the recent APSA Pro Street Shootout. As you
can see high-8's are no problem at all, and it sounds tough.
MELTEM Goes Bang!
This blown V8 powered Toyota Corolla was going great until the bits inside
the engine decided they wanted to be outside.
CRITTA Eats Tyres
One again CRITTA consumes a couple of tyres at Springnats in Shepparton.
With a blown big block up front it's an A-grade tyre fryer.
