Dodge Challenger Hellcat vs. Modified Ford Mustang GT – 60 to 150 MPH Street Hits

May 6th, 2024

The man that frankfurters are named for is back on the streets for some roll racing fun. Big Frank has ferreted out a pair of sports car enthusiast looking to get down to where the rubber meets the road (in Mexico). He’s got the cameras mounted and the microphones set on blast.

The Ford Mustang GT is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 that can make 420hp in stock condition. He’s running a 6-speed manual transmission. This car has been upgraded with a full accoutrement of aftermarket performance bolt-ons. It has high-performance camshafts and it’s tuned to burn E85 fuel. The Mustang has also undergone some degree of weight reduction.

In the left lane is the menacing Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Equipped with supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 motor, the stock Hellcat can produce 797hp (on race gas). This angry kitty is running an automatic transmission. The only mods are some custom exhaust and slicks on the rear. The Hellcat has also lost some weight. While the Dodge makes serious power, it remains very heavy at 4,415-pounds.

Time to let ‘em rip.
