after this video we did weld rear end, put in a throttle pedal, a tach, then jumped it, split the bell housing and blew it up :)
Go Kart 1000cc with flatshifter.
The Flatshifter has now been installed, the initial test run with the Kart raised above the ground went well. Gearing up without moving the foot from the throttle, and gear down using a throttle blipper, The gear change is smooth in both directions. We are hoping to get it out on the track soon and test it out, so until then I am going to grow a large set of nuts before we go flying round the track.
Shifter kart, way too fast!
Eagles Canyon Raceway, 2.5 mile course and 2000 foot straight. 2 minutes and 14 seconds, just over 67 miles per hour average. 18 X 21 gears on stock moto. I couldn't pull to the top of 6th gear on the straight. This was just plain scary at times. I think if I go up a tooth on the rear I may be able to lower my times. My brother joined me in this experiment. -M
