This is the legendary Porsche 917 that was driving on a test day at Spa Francorchamps. This flat 12 boxer beast didn't run a lot but you are able to see the great lines of the car. Well there where some problems with the gear changing that you will hear. This car has won in 1970 at Zandvoort and keimola.

This Porsche 917-025 was built for Porsche AG as a long-tail version. In 1970 was converted into a 917 "K" (K stay for Kurzheck, "short" in german), painted in white with blue stripes and sold to Team Zitro, from Switzerland. The car is moved by a 4.5 liter Flat-12 engine which can produce 580hp at 8300 rpm and it's able to reach a top speed over 350 km/h (220 mph). Bilder vom Streckenrand und die ersten sieben Runden Onboard. Am Ende der siebenten Runde schafft es H. Regout in einer spektakulären Aktion endlich am Sauber C9 vorbeizuziehen und dabei gleich noch zwei weitere Fahrzeuge zu überrunden. Disappointed by the poor results of the 917 in 1969, Porsche decided to find a solution that could have improved the car for the next 1970 racing season. The answer was to "cut the tail" of the car. So they put in the name of the car the letter "K", in order to underline the distinctive feature of the new 917 ( K stay for "kurzheck" which means "short"). The car was been equipped with a new 4.9 liters flat-12 engine (the previous was 4.5 liters) which permitted the car to reach a power of about 600 - 620 bhp and a top speed of 390 km/h (240 mph). A Le Mans' Hero: Porsche 917 - PURE RACECAR SOUNDS
When you think about racecars and Le Mans, you probably think about this: the Porsche 917. You used to see this monster in videogames but in my video you can finally see how it looks like in real world! I'm proud to host on my channel this proper Le Mans hero, a Porsche 917/k to be precise. After lying idle for forty years, the Porsche 917 exhibited in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum took to the tarmac again on 8 June 2010 at an exceptional demonstration on the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, for the greatest pleasure of all car racing buffs. On this occasion, the equally legendary Gérard Larrousse, former pilot of this car and Le Mans winner in 1973 and 1974, took the wheel again to drive back and forth a few times in the straight section in front of the grandstand. A car of superlatives, probably the most spectacular racing car having raced at Le Mans in the twentieth century, it has been dubbed 'competition car of the century'.This phoenix-like rebirth is the end result of painstaking efforts by the Fondation du Patrimoine and Motul working together to safeguard and enhance heritage cars. __________________________________ Après quarante années de repos et pour le plus grand plaisir de tous les passionnés de course automobile, la Porsche 917 exposée au Musée des 24 Heures a repris du service le 8 juin 2010 lors d'une démonstration exceptionnelle sur le circuit des 24 Heures du Mans. A cette occasion, le non moins légendaire Gérard Larrousse, ancien pilote de cette voiture et vainqueur au Mans en 1973 et 1974, a (re)pris place au volant pour effectuer quelques allers-retours sur la ligne droite des tribunes.
