RARE! VTEC sound/noise, i-VTEC motor/engine, 09 Honda Civic Si
Im purposely Under Shifting to show my viewers what VTEC sounds like
instead of only hearing it once every time i go from 1st to 2nd.
09 Honda civic si, put in a Ram Air/ Short ram Intake by Injen, and i
wanted to let people hear the sound the intake makes on the Si. it sounds
not bad. just cruising around the block in my town. there is lots of
traffic and cops in the area so i couldn't do much 3rd gear pulls.
is it Ram air intake or short ram intake?
sorry about the quality, i had it on HD when i recorded it and now it looks
pretty fuzzy on youtube. comment and rate this video please and drive
and also a great video to show people who arent sure what VTEC or i-VTEC
motor/engine is and what it sounds like. just for the curious folks.
driving right up to vtec range and then shifting early to show multiple
crossover for more than just one gear.
Honda Civic Type-R Review - Top Gear - BBC

Best VTEC Sound - K20
The sound of that downshift at 0:45 is reason enough to be NA. The car is
an 8th Gen (06) Si with a stock K20 and open airbox.
In a world where true driving enthusiasts are a dying breed, peaky and
berserk NA engines like this are becoming scarce in favor of more "torquey"
engines with consequently diluted powerbands and lower rev-limits. Despite
what you may have heard, the only TRUE advantage of this torque-focused
engine type is that it lets you go reasonably fast even if you have no idea
how to properly extract top-end power from a manual performance car.
Its easy to say that your engine has 5 liters (or whatever) and therefore
doesn't NEED more than 6000rpm. Fair enough, but you must be willing to
make that statement knowing that a proper 8k-redline 5-liter would make
around 500 horsepower NA completely
stock. Still in love with that low-end? Low-rpm NA engines sacrifice their
full performance potential for no reason other than to be easier and more
rewarding for a novice to drive.
