1972 Mercury Capri V6 2600 startup ......and it's for sale !
This was my first car purchased in 1978. I drove it stock for a few years
then in 1981 I did a restoration (body work, paint, suspension, engine,
trans.) . I took off the stock rally wheels and bias tires and put on some
aluminum slot mag wheels with radials.
I installed an ANSA dual sport Exhaust
system with twin Ferrari resonator tips which improved the performance and
it sounded great!
Put air shocks in the back so I could lower the rear a bit to improve
I installed a high power stereo (hey it was 1981!) and this thing was
powerful at that time. I made a custom speaker enclosure to fit on the
I installed a set of aluminum rear window louvers and that set off the
styling nicely...at least I liked them !
The car handled great, the V6 and 4 speed made for a really quick and
nimble sports car. Plus it was very reliable for a 70's import. The only
issues I had was loosing a sync gear in the trans and it liked to go
through front end bushings..
The interior is in great shape but the dash is cracked. Actually I think
they all cracked after 4-5 years unless the car never saw the sunshine!
The body has some spots coming through but it's not in terrible shape. The
entire underside was undercoated.
Normal maintenance was performed over the years but along with belts,
hoses, etc... etc will need the front calipers rebuilt as the are sticking.
Otherwise it runs and drives good.

1983 Mercury Capri rs 5.0
This is my Capri I bought it in 1989 and drove it for years until I had
kids.I stored it for a few years and started the restoration in 1994 it
took me ten years to get it up and running but I did end up taking every
single piece of this car apart and did all the work myself other than the
machine work for the motor and I did not paint it.The theme is to look
exactly like it did in 1983.The hardest part was finding 1983 ground
effects.Other than the stero and tinted windows this is a correct 1983.

Test Drive the 1974 Ford Capri V8!
Hi! This is Agent 8771's 1974 Ford Capri, featuring a high-output 302 V8
and Borg-Warner T5 transmission hooked to a Ford 9 inch positraction rear.
This car originally had the wheezy Pinto 2000 cc engine and 4 speed trans,
so it is much better now. A nice, original, rust-free unit brought up from
the States to save it from the recyclers yard. Sweet vintage aluminum slot
mags, nerf bars, and diamond-tuft package tray finish this Capri off in
classic 70's style! Hope you like it as much as I do!
