Jamboree 2011 - Cool Cars, Hot Women

I decided to stick my head in for a look at Jamboree 2011 while on holidays in Queensland recently. Cool cars and hot women make this event a mandatory addition to everyone's event list. There's a couple little editing glitches in the video, but it took so long to render and upload, I decided to let them be.

BLWNLUX - World's Toughest Hilux
Forget the Top Gear Hilux. This has to be the toughest Toyota Hilux in the world. Brett Battersby has jacked up this '87 Hilux and filled the engine bay with 540 cubes of blown and injected big block Chev. Check out those flames!

Scotty's Garage 2010 - Close Calls & Conflagrations
It's been a big year for fires and crashes (near misses anyway), and we thought it was time to look back at all the craziness of 2010. With Summernats just around the corner we'll be hitting even more events in 2011.

Jet Powered Van Fires Things Up
Crank up the volume for this one. This jet powered van not only puts on a good fire show but it also hauls arse down the track at Heathcote. Unfortunately there was no time recorded but it looks pretty damn fast.

Don't Open The Hood - Just Don't do it!
If you need an explanation of why they like to have bonnets (hoods) on cars during burnouts then watch this video fight to the end. It's also the reason why I like to films cars until they leave the burnout pad these days. I can't count the amount of times I've turned the camer off and then the radiator or hose has let go.

Blown Nova Goes 6.39 on 10.5 tyres
Frank Mamone's blown Chevy Nova is a wicked looking beast and it's got plenty of grunt to match. Lately he's been racing the Hemi powered Nova inn the 10.5 class and with some success too. He won at Sydney Dragway recent at the APSA Pro Street Shootout.

1000HP Ratrod Pick-up Fries the Tyres And Transmission
It's been a while since we've seen Denis Maloney's RatRod Dodge puick-up at a competition and that's because it was getting this new beast of an engine. Denis has just fitted this 1000hp+ 410ci Chrysler small block, complete with methanol injection. It's a crazy beast and more than a little scary. Halfway through the burnout you could tell the auto wasn't really happy and the back wheels weren't spinning they way they should have been, then the flames started and while I haven't confirmed this, I wouldn't be surprised if it was trans fluid causing the fire. Hopefully he'll get it all sorted soon.

Summernats 27 - Last Chance Burnout Preview
We take a look at most of the entrants in the Last Chance Burnout Competition at Summernats 27.

Harley Wheelstand - Hang on!
This Harley rider got a little more than he bargained for when he launched at Sydney Dragway recently. He did well to stay on it and then he even got back into the throttle. Bloody amazing.

13s for $1300 - Project Bluebird - Episode 11
We fit a Nitrous purge system to our 13s for $1300 Falcon so we can extract the best performance from our Nitrous system. The kit was purchased on ebay for $60, which brings our current total to $1209.

Awsome wheelstand - Black RX7
Check out the wild wheelstand from this black RX7 at WSID. Awesome! Therte's two different wheelstands, make sure you watch both.

Ultimate Burnout Challenge 2011
The third annual Ultimate Burnout Challenge was a success with over 100 of Australia's best burnout machinery doing battle for a chance at the $10,000 first prize. Everyone who is anyone in the burnout scene was there to compete or check out the action with the top ten from the days competition shooting it out under lights for the big money. We won't tell you who won, watch the video for that, but it was well deserved. Enjoy the video, we've got much more action coming from UBC3 over the coming weeks.

Ford Coupe Club of Australia Hardtop Nationals 2011
We take a look at the Ford Coupe Club of Australia Hardtop Nationals. For those that don't know, these Australian built coupes/hardtops were built from 1972 through to 1979 across the XA/XB/XC model ranges. The most famous coupe is probably the Mad Max car used in the first two mad max movies, and there's a replica of that car featuring in this video. There was also a coupe that featured in Love The Beast - Eric Bana's ode to his own Falcon Coupe which he has owned from way before he became famous. Unfortunately I couldn't fit all the cars in the video but I squeezed a fair few in, I hope you all enjoy it. Music in the centre section comes from Kevin MacLeod at http://incompetech.com/ the tune is call Surf Inspector

R33 Skyline Punches A Rod Out at Gazzanats
There's no doubt that Skylines are decent performance cars but every car has it's limits - as the owner of this R33 found out at Gazzanats. I've never seen a nearly complete conrod leave an engine before, usually they're broken in two.

13s For $1300 - Project Bluebird - Episode 17
We take Project Bluebird, our $1300 race car, to Heathcote Raceway again to see how it goes on the quarter mile after the lastest round of tweaks. The budget still stands at $1249 and with two bottles of Nitrous at the ready we're trying for a 12sec pass. Will we make it? Watch and see.

Top doorslammer goes for a spin
This Camaro Top Doorslammer gets out of shape and goes 360 before hitting the opposite wall at Willowbank.
