MkV Toyota Supra vs. Nissan GT-R – Street Hits

March 6th, 2024

We are headed back to the streets (of Mexico) tonight for some roll racing action. Competing in this high-revving altercation are a pair of Japanese imports that have been modified to improve performance. Grab ahold of something and hang on tight – it’s time to go racing.

The rear-wheel drive MkV Toyota GR Supra is powered by a turbocharged inline 6-cylinder mill mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Built in collaboration with BMW, the MkV Supra is a fiery sports car designed with an eye towards performance. Featured in this video is a Supra that has been modified with a SiR (Spray It Racing) turbo, an E50 tune and high-performance exhaust. These cars are especially responsive to modifications and this one is no exception. Look out! He’s quick.

In the other lane is the Nissan GT-R. Affectionately known as Godzilla, the GT-R comes with a twin turbocharged all-aluminum 3.8-liter V6 under the hood. In stock trim, the Nissan GT-R can produce 565hp and 467 lb.-ft. of torque. At a curb weight of 3,850-pounds, the GT-R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3-seconds flat and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.2-seconds. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic and the drivetrain is all-wheel drive. The Nissan in this video is modified with a full accoutrement of bolt-ons and it’s tuned to burn E85 fuel.
