All-Motor LSX Swapped Chevy Vega – 650HP Restomod

December 15th, 2023

Thanks to Shawn from AutotopiaLA for finding this sick Chevrolet Vega in sunny California. This radical street rod is a creation of Bones Fab. As expected, it’s top notch.

The 1973 Vega sheet metal rides on a custom 2-inch-by-3-inch chassis. The front suspension is a Chassis Works Mustang II, and the rear is a custom four-link setup. It has adjustable coilovers on all four corners. The rear wheels are Billet Specialties wearing a 14×31-inch tire and the front are 15×3.5-inch with a 26×4.5-inch tire. Manual Wilwood disc brakes adorn all four corners.

Under the hood is a naturally aspirated Mast Motorsports 440 cubic-inch LSX V8 engine. At a curb weight of 2,700-pounds, this Vega made approximately 650hp to the rear wheels. A 4L80E automatic truck transmission (with reverse manual valve bodies) handles the shifting duties and the rear end is a Ford 9-inch (in a Currie housing) loaded with 4.10:1 gears and Currie axles. As far as exhaust, 1.875-inch headers dump into oval-shaped 3.5-inch stainless pipes with Borla mufflers.

The interior is all business with carbon fiber accents and a full Auto Meter gauge setup.

What’s better than driving a fast car? Getting driven around by a pretty welder/fabricator named Sydney.
