This is my XR6 turbo at the drag races. Ran a 14.57sec 1/4 mile. Not too bad for a stock car. The best time I achieved was 13.9sec on a different cooler night. I was going to spend a bit of money and put a CAPA kit on it but I ended up selling the car and bought a Lexus SC400. Gotta say the Ford was more fun. Kinda regret that decion. ah well...
Flat shifting xr6 turbo
flat shifting in an xr6 turbo using the
launch control and spark cut revlimiter.
For those that dont know what going on here, i imported a 2 stage spark cut
rev limiter from the USA and fitted to the "coil on plug" ignition in the
xr6t. The limit can be set at whatever rpm you like, i use the forst stage
for launch control and the second stage to limit rpm between shifts. The
advantage in using this system, is that the throttle body stays open, and
the injectors keep flowing fuel whilst the limiter is dropping the spark.
The result, is that the unburnt fuel keeps the turbo spooled, and the open throttle body prevents
the accumulated Boost from dumping
out the BOV. Both of the above are prevented by the factory limiter as it
closes throttle and turns off injectors when the limit is hit.

Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo 0-100 in 4.8 secs
2003 Model Ford BA Falcon. This is an Australian full-size sedan weight
1700+ kg. The engine is a Ford Australia I6 of 4 litre capacity with a
factory fitted Ford variant of the Garrett GT3582 turbo designated as the 3540.
The car had 315kw at the treads at the time.
The car is currently tuned to 369.3rwkw @ 17psi after new torque converter
and new coil packs.
FG XR6 Turbo 0-200
FG XR6 turbo 0-200. Factory standard.
Rolling on factory 19" rims, Toyo T1R. Brand new tyres, so grip is
fantastic. Usually it would wheelspin to 60, stuffing up the gear change,
but this time it was nice and smooth.
0-100: 4.9 seconds
0-200: 16.1 seconds
80-120: 2.5 seconds
Eased off a little after 200, was contemplating going to the 240 limiter
but the private racetrack had a corner coming up so I canned that idea.
Can't wait to start modding it.
XR6T vs Commie SV8
At poercruise 2011 at Eastern Creek, down the main straight in my XR6T ute
having a little run with a VY SV8, think its got a massive cam in it.
He started going a little before me and then i did kinda start pulling him
in a little bit but was a great run and that SV8 had some BALLS!!!
XR6 turbo stock exhaust minus centre muffler
my 04 xr6t just had the centre muffler removed and replaced with straight
pipes! an $80 mod but listen to it now! goes a bit harder too because its
better flowing now less restriction!
