Subaru R-STi - JDM vs USDM: A Friendly Rivalry -- /TUNED
In the US, we never got the best Subaru of them all, the first generation WRX coupe, getting stuck with the fun-but-not-fast 2.5RS version. One of the more popular upgrades for those cars is the "R-STi" drivetrain swap. In the season premiere of Tuned, we look at two approaches: the USDM drivetrain swap, and the JDM drivetrain swap. Which is better? You decide.

2015 Subaru WRX STI: The Daily Driver Rally Car Returns! - Ignition Ep. 107
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago tests the latest generation of the perennial rally car favorite: The 2015 Subaru WRX STI. Much like the new WRX, this STI has an entirely new and significantly stiffer body structure, but unlike the WRX, it still uses the same 305 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four that's powered the car since 2008. Our introduction to the car occurs at the press launch at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. From there, we test the STI to see the performance improvements and drive it on one of our favorite mountain roads. How does the new STI stack up? Stay tuned to find out. Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsAegdhiYLEoaFGuJFVrqFQ?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & https://www.facebook.com/mt.ignition Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend & https://twitter.com/mt_ignition Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+motortrend/posts Instagram - @mt_ignition Website - http://www.motortrend.com

Subaru WRX STI mph crash flip burn compilation スバル クラッシュ
Add me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SubyPAL Read more at http://www.SubyPAL.com Special thanks to the Subaru nation -- this one is for you. Remember: Subaru = Unite! For those of you who care to read the details, let me give you my opinion about the STi and WRX. When it comes to comparing overall capability, performance, and price; there is nothing in the world close to an Impreza. The engineers who built the "STI" as you know it, are rooted in Prodrive. For ten years they perfected the ultimate vehicle - balancing, strengthening, reducing weight, and improving overall performance. It is the product of the 1990's mechanical engineering brainchild, developed out of the introduction of computer aided design and modern electronics during a time period when budgets weren't of object. Subaru and Prodrive spent millions upon millions of dollars perfecting a chassis for WRC competition. What is WRC? You know the name, but what is it really??? It is the most intense form of racing competition with the highest ratio and count of variables that ultimately lead to failure. Perfecting this type of racing can only be done by trial and error, experimentation, and experience. The Subaru WRC program lasted with Prodrive until they dominated the WRC for multiple years in a row. The kicker is that in order to compete in WRC you must use a readily available, production public chassis. Subaru developed the Impreza chassis with Prodrive's help and direction, thus resulting in the ultimate rally machine. By bridging the gap between racing and production, the Subaru Impreza chassis is the perfect vehicle. Symmetrical and balanced, every part of the vehicle is design for perfection. You can take it from stock to full race and compete with some of the fastest cars in the world! Run side by side with exotics or hit the trails with 4x4's, you can do ANYTHING in an Impreza and do it faster than everyone else. REMEMBER THIS!!! You are not just driving an Impreza. You are flying the product of Prodrive and Subaru dominating the WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!! This is the best of the best. Enjoy it. :) *NOTE* I doubt any of you will read this, but if you think the title is misleading you obviously didn't watch the video. There is plenty of crashing, flipping, and burning. The 1000 hp impreza is the white one doing a high speed run. You'll see it flash through a couple of times. So if you think it is misleading, it is only because you didn't watch the entire video. ***My personal story about this video and my involvement with Subaru*** Out of all the videos I have created, I feel that this one is by far the best. All of you have probably seen it so I'm going to let you know the story behind it. I made it shortly after my mother passed away. Like within a week or so. This happened while I was building my 02 WRX - she died of cancer. It was a slow, painful death that took the course of two or three months. I lived with her at the time, so unfortunately I had a front row seat to her demise and saw just how ugly cancer can be. Most people in this situation would turn to drugs, counselors, etc - I turned to my Subaru. If any of you were wondering why I was so meticulous with the build of that vehicle and went to insane extents to modify even the most minute facet; it was a way for me to cope with life at that time. She was in good health when I started the build, and when I finished it she had already passed on. She always supported me in what I was doing despite the fact I was dumping thousands of dollars into a vehicle that I would never get back. Half way through the build before she became terminally ill I was able to take her for a ride. We only went around the block but it was one of the most memorable times I had in my Subaru and with my mother. A couple months later she died. When I was told she had passed on, guess where I was standing? In the garage next to my subaru. I made this video as a dedication to her and the fact that SHE was the one who encouraged me to build fast cars, write about them, and make videos. She was the one who let me get behind the wheel of a sports car first. I miss her so much I can't even begin to explain it.. So when you watch this video, you might see cars crashing, Subarus hooning out, etc. I see a point in my life that is very dark, and the tone of this video clearly illustrates my emotions at the time. Just goes to show you how creativity can be affected by the circumstances of life.

2015 Subaru WRX vs 2014 Ford Focus ST! Head 2 Head Ep. 50
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman gets his hands on the all-new, 2015 Subaru WRX, as well as one of Motor Trend's favorite pocket rockets, the Ford Focus ST. Each car costs about $30,000, sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with similar power outputs, and features a 6-speed manual transmission. The Subaru of course features a sporty version of the brand's "symmetrical AWD" while the Focus makes due with just the front wheels driven. However, since it first appeared, the Focus ST has wowed the Motor Trend staff with ability to dance around corners and, generally, not drive and feel like a front-wheel driver. We like the Focus ST so much that we invited it to last year's Best Driver's Car. But does the Ford have what it takes to beat the latest street-tamed rally baby from Subaru? You're going to have to watch and find out. Head 2 Head appears every other Wednesday on the Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend Google+ - https://plus.google.com/1018679678590... Cross Country in a Gasser 1955 Chevy with a Hemi! - Roadkill Ep. 30
On this episode of Roadkill, it's 2,600 miles, 530 cubic inches, 700 horsepower, six speeds, 17 mpg, and two fun visits with some friends from TV. Last time, on Roadkill Episode 29, we finished our Chrysler-Hemi-powered 1955 Chevrolet gasser in about two weeks of thrashing (it's the same car you saw us take, as a bare shell, to Jim Meyer Racing in Oregon in Episode 8). On this latest episode, we drive it around the block once, then hit the road on a 2,600-mile journey from Los Angeles to the kickoff party of the 2014 HOT ROD Power Tour in Concord, North Carolina. On the way, there's the breakdowns you expect from Roadkill, plus two surprises: a stop at Midwest Street Cars with Justin "Big Chief" Shearer and Shawn "Murder Nova" Ellington from Street Outlaws, and another with Rutledge Wood from Top Gear USA.   The '55 Chevy is based on an original body with new quarters and floors and a fiberglass decklid and tilt front end, and Lexan windows from ProGlass. It's not in primer: the car was wrapped in satin black by Moody from High-Tech Auto Wraps. The car sits on a complete gasser chassis from Jim Meyer Racing with a solid front axle on leaf springs and a ladder-bar setup with Vicking coilovers on the rear. The rear tires are reproduction Firestone piecrust slicks from Coker tire, and the fronts are just like stock VW Bug tires.  The engine is a 530ci Hemi based on a Mopar Performance crate engine. With a Comp solid roller cam, 10.5:1 compression, homemade 2-1/4-inch headers from a Hedman kit, and Hilborn stack injection powered by a FAST XFI controller and Aeromotive fuel system, it makes 700 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. We were stunned to see 17 mpg a few times on the cross-country trip, especially with absurd 5.43 gears in the Ford 9-inch rear axle. The key to it all is the Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual double-overdrive trans installed with a conversion kit from American Powertrain. The car uses a Speedwires harness, charging and starting by Powermaster, and a Braille lightweight battery in the trunk.
