1967 Formula S Plymouth Barracuda - Redefining Mopar muscle cars
This black 1967 Formula S Plymouth Barracuda is a driver's car and owner John Rocks proudly displays it at local car shows. John refers to his work as a restofication, meaning that it may not be a number 1 show car but it looks almost as good as new. John is an expert in Mopars and ells the story about how he worked on Mopars as a young man and we show pictures of his original 1967 convertible Plymouth Barracuda. We also get a peak at his white 1967 Plymouth Barracuda coupe. The contrast of these two cars sitting side by side is pretty special. Hang in there and take an afternoon drive with John as he shows off the cornering performance of his black Formula S Plymouth Barracuda. The white Barracuda is not too happy about it but you can only drive one car at a time. This video includes the use of a camera jib (crane) for some incredibly smooth shots. The use of the GoPro was a learning experience as this was the first time we used it to capture some scenes of John and his car speeding around corners. This is one videographer that had to hold on tight and some of the footage was not usable as I went flying around in my seat. 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Classic Muscle Car for Sale in MI Vanguard Motor Sales
http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! If you look up Vanguard Motor Sales in a thesaurus, one of the first words you might find is "Mopar". That's because we've spent the few years bringing Mopar fans the greatest array of exceptional cars ever offered for sale. This stunning purple Supercharged 1968 Plymouth Barracuda continues that tradition and presents you, the serious collector, with yet another chance to expand your collection. This Cuda went through an extensive restoration in 2007. The solid metal body is straight, clean and rust free. There is no bondo, no waves and no ripples. After all that hard work, the car was sprayed with its beautiful purple metallic paint. The result is a fantastically straight Cuda that looks like it could have rolled out of Dodge Main yesterday. Panel gaps, door and trunk lips and margins are exceptional, the doors and trunk open and close with very little effort and the cars deep purple metallic paint has little to no defects or wear. All of the chrome and stainless is equally as nice. The first thing you will notice under the hood is that Paxton Supercharger, attached to the 340ci motor. The casting number on the motor is 2780930-340. Turnbuckle ties are holding this baby down. Once you get past that sweet looking Supercharger, you will see that this Cuda also is wearing a MSD Ignition, a remote oil filter, breather canister and an Optima battery. There are coated headers as well. Make no mistake; this car runs just as well today as it did when it rolled into the dealership in 1970 and it's one of the few muscle cars that can still run with the best from Detroit. The bottom of the car has been well taken care of as well. Matched up to that 340 Supercharged motor, is a 4-speed transmission, which shifts awesome. The casting number for the trans is 99129, and there is another stamp with # 9B327429. There is a posi-traction rear end, with what we believe to be 3:50 gears. There are some minor repairs in both driver side and passenger side rockers and one small patch on the floorboard, all of which have been done extremely well. There is no rust to be found, the undercarriage of this Cuda is solid! A new stainless steel gas line and new gas tank were included in the restoration, as well as a Flowmaster Exhaust system (2.5" out back and 3" feeders). Cross drilled rotors and front disc brakes keep this Cuda between the lines. The upper control arms are tubular, there are new spindles and eurethane bushings on the radius arms. The front fenders have no signs of repairs, they look to be original metal. Sitting on all four corners are 17" Billet wheels and BF Goodrich G-Force tires. Inside the car has been completely restored and features beautiful white upholstery, and headliner. Sitting between the bucket seats is a beautiful console and Hurst shifter. In front of the driver is a stunning wood Grant steering wheel and a set of Auto-Meter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges. In the center of the dash there is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system, which sounds great, and underneath that is a duo of aftermarket gauges. All of the interior lights work and the black carpet is in beautiful shape. The fold-down back seat gives plenty of extra storage for your cooler and folding chairs. This car is ready for a summer cruise, and the local car show! This is a rare, Supercharged 340 Cuda that is 100% complete inside and out. Nothing has been left unrestored and the Cuda is guaranteed to please even the most discerning collector, as a center piece to any Mopar or classic car collection. Call today! 134076 / 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/d52jwfy This striking '71 'Cuda pro-tourer, with its 605 cubic inch Hemi V8, fully custom suspension and sleek leather interior, is perfect for the muscle car fan who wants the best of absolutely everything! The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration that was completed by the owners of Lakeside Rods and Customs in Rockwell City, Iowa, this slick Plymouth super star features a seamless custom appearance that's highlighted by an immaculate coat of matte-finish paint. The team's plan was to create a car that was unlike anything they'd ever built. And this gnarly pro-tourer, decked in PPG Dark Titanium, detailed in a striking combination of black, orange and silver, and finished in PPG Flex N' Flat clear, ended up the perfect cross between a '70s drag car and a modern Autocross king. When this sinister 'Cuda rumbled into the showroom, it caused such a commotion that our entire staff came out of their offices just to check it out. And when we lifted the hood and found a 605 cubic inch Indy Street Legend Hemi that produces an amazing 850 horsepower and a stunning 790 lb./ft. of torque, we certainly weren't disappointed! At the top of that Maxx aluminum block, a custom shaker forces wind through a reusable filter element into a giant King Demon carburetor that's cinched to a ported intake and fresh stainless fuel lines. At the sides of that intake, Indy 426 heads, which have been fitted with high quality roller rockers and clean stainless valves, hang slick orange covers over an Indy-supplied rotating assembly that includes Wiseco 10.75 to 1 pistons, Eagle H-beam connecting rods, a Callies 4340 crank, ARP bolts and a Comp roller cam. At the sides of that rotating assembly, black long-tube headers swirl spent gases into a rowdy true dual Exhaust system. At the front of those headers, a familiar Billet Specialties Tru Trac system spins a chrome Powermaster alternator above a polished Billet Specialties power steering pump. And the big motor's fires are lit by a Painless Wiring harness that utilizes an MSD 6AL ignition system to spark an MSD coil, a color-keyed MSD Pro-Billet distributor and high performance MSD plug wires. Behind that high-octane engine, you'll find a TCI-supplied Powerglide that's wrapped in a Reid Racing case. That stalwart 2-speed spins a custom driveshaft that's hooked to a Ford nine inch Traction-Lok rear end, tall 3.73 gears and Strange 31-spline axles. As you can probably tell from our pictures, that rock-solid drivetrain is suspended by a custom Art Morrison MaxG chassis that's fitted with a Corvette C6 front clip, a Corvette C6 sway bar, a Watt's Link rear clip and Strange coil over shocks. And power flows to the pavement through a slick set of custom Intro wheels that spin 245/40ZR18 and 335/30ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros around chrome lug nuts and color-keyed paint. Inside this stunning Mopar you'll find a completely custom interior that's tight, technological and in excellent condition. The firm seats, custom-stitched suede and leather units that are equipped with RCI Camlock harnesses, feel comfortable enough to spend a sunny afternoon in. In front of those seats, a custom, Lakeside-built dash hangs a sweet set of Classic Instruments Velocity gauges above Large Rockford Fosgate speakers and small Rockford Fosgate tweeters. And the car's driver stays connected to the road via a painted tilt steering column that's complete with stylized stalks and a sporty Momo Nero wheel. In summary, this killer Plymouth pro-tourer represents creative engineering at its very finest, combining stunning design and execution with no-excuses, no-limits performance. Junkyard 'Cuda Rescue, With Nitrous Oxide! - Roadkill Episode 11
On this episode of Roadkill, David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of HOT ROD magazine fly out of town, buy a car from a junkyard, make it run and drive, do burnouts, add Nitrous, drag race twice, almost die, and the auction off the car at the end. The scene begins at CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, Texas, where the guys score a '67 Plymouth Barracuda with a 360 V8, but without a carburetor, interior, glass, or brakes. By the time they sort out a number of other mechanical woes, they're off for some burnouts and some racing at North Star Dragway, right next to the Auto Ranch. Then it's a 300-mile drive to Houston for the NMCA Lone Star Nationals race. But, as you've come to expect from these guys, that doesn't exactly go smoothly. But then they add NOS Nitrous and it makes everything ok as they hang out with Jeff Lutz and Tim Reed from HOT ROD Drag Week right before they have to sell the car and hit the plane home. Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the new Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & http://facebook.com/hotrodmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend & http://twitter.com/hotrodmagazine Google+ - https://plus.google.com/101867967859016552744/posts Website - http://www.motortrend.com & http://www.hotrod.com

In Torque We Trust - 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S
Mr. Bob Gough's family moved to France for a few years when he was thirteen years-old and thus he grew up idolizing European sports cars and looking down on American muscle. That was until he discovered the 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S. The 'Cuda Formula S was upgraded in-house by Plymouth with suspension and brakes that allow it to keep up with European sports cars in the twisties (that is, all but the tightest twisties). He purchased this car over twenty-three years ago and has gradually upgraded it. Bob replaced the transmission with a Tremec 5-speed and now runs a 340 cubic inch V8, rather than the original 273 ci engine. He's also replaced the original 14" wheels with custom 15" steelies. And the only suspension mod that Bob has made is replacing the original shocks with nitrogen shocks that vastly improve the handling. The Plymouth handles so well in fact, that he frequently surprises sports car owners on drives. And once the curves straighten out, its ample torque allows it to "leave Porsches behind." You do need to exercise caution entering corners though, because the Forumla S is prone to rear wheel lock-up—so early braking is a must! Even though Bob pushes the 'Cuda, it's actually docile to drive, "but who drives a car like that?" Drive Tastefully® http://Petrolicious.com http://facebook.com/Petrolicious
