How to change your own oil DIY Ford Explorer

With the economy the way it is, more people have resorted to trying to do their own repairs and maintenance. This is the basic procedure for changing your own oil in a 2006 Ford Explorer with a 4.0L SOHC V6. I hope this helps. I graduated from Wyotech in 1995 and I'm an ASE Master Tech with advanced engine performance certification, light duty diesel cert, and I'm a certified service consultant. If you have any automotive related questions, ask in the comments or send me a message. I plan to upload more automotive how to videos, some racing videos, more firearms videos, and some pranks related to all of the above. Thanks for watching. Please rate and subscribe.

Jeep throws a rod
This was a 4.0L Jeep Wrangler that was towed to me that had thrown a rod. The back of the Jeep was covered in oil. It was splattering oil out of a hole in the oil pan. You can even see part of the connecting rod sticking out of the oil pan. I wanted to rev it up and scatter it, but the vehicle didn't belong to me and the owner didn't like the idea! Re: Regular Oil vs Synthetic Oil -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ I knew the original video would spark discussion and apparently it's caused quite a stir over at iATN. I also felt that some of what I said in the last video needed clarification. For those reasons I've made this Re: video. I'm not going to claim to be an expert on oil, I'm just speaking from personal experience. I still don't think I'm done with this topic and I invite any 'experts' who wish to express their opinions on this topic to join me in the next video(s). How To Change TRANSMISSION FLUID/FILTER 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty
http://www.youtube.com/user/satchelmcqueenvideo - Follow this video and you to can change your fluid and filter in your Jeep Liberty transmission for year model 2002-2007. It is very messy, but pretty simple if you take your time and it can save you a lot of money. Use ONLY ATF+4 full synthetic transmission fluid. Any other type fluid or any combination of friction modifiers will not provide the lubrication these transmissions need and you will quickly destroy them. NOTE: Sometimes when using a gasket for the pan, it leaks and is hard to stop. I recommend instead to use the sealant only with NO gasket. Tighten pan to transmission hand tight until the pan closes flat against the body. I ran into this problem after the video was already made. I took the pan back off and used sealant only laying down a 1/4 bead all around pan and bolt holes. I let dry for 4 hours, then filled with fluid.

2009 Ford Flex DIY Oil Change How-To Video
Time to change the oil in our 2009 Ford Flex. This time out, I tried using a 5-liter jug of oil instead of buying 6 individual quarts. Bad idea. Sure, you save a couple of bucks, but the big jug is bulky and hard to pour, and you need a taller funnel to avoid spilling. Plus, if your car takes anything less than 5.3 quarts, it'd be all too easy to add too much oil. Thanks, but no thanks. Also, the Ford Motorcraft oil filter has a weird serrated end that doesn't fit my off-the shelf end-driven filter wrench, so I had to use a hateful band-type filter wrench. The experience was, as expected, a royal pain.
