Mecum Auction Presents - Lot # S116 70 ½ Chevrolet Camaro
The early years of Pro Stock racing saw some of the most exciting heads-up
racing and the most intense fan support the sport had ever experienced. The
1971 season saw some spectacular matchups, with legendary racers like "Dyno Don" Nicholson,
"Dandy" Dick Landy, Sox & Martin and the man from Malvern, Pennsylvania,
Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins. Jenkins had been a well-known fixture at tracks
since GM's factory racing days. As a privateer, Jenkins went on to
represent Chevrolet and soon became one of their most successful racers
ever. This 1970 ½ Camaro was the first car that
Jenkins built specifically for the class, and its track record with
Jenkins, Bruce Larson and later, East Coast racer Richie Zul is nothing
short of legendary.
Grumpy's Toy VII has been painstakingly restored to its original race
configuration, including a correct "512" cast-iron 427 block, aluminum
heads, and Weiand tunnel ram with "period correct" 750 cfm Holley
double-pumper carbs. Additionally, the Camaro was finished in its
original race livery and looks like it emerged from a time machine. It was
recently featured in Super Chevy magazine and is in concours condition.
1969 PRO STREET CAMARO SS WITH 750+HP NEW UPDATE NOW FOR SALE AGAIN!! ASKING $59,950 OBO!!!!
Ok Camaro fans here we
go. I am selling this car again for the current owner. This is one
beautiful pro street 1969 Camaro ss. It is a beautiful
Black on Black with just a little hint of white in the SS emblems, BF
Goodrich white letter tires and the interior white gauges to set it off.
This makes for one stunning Camaro. What makes it pro
street/touring, well for starters. This is a X-11 car. This is a original
Camaro SS 350 car. The
car does not have the 350 or the 350 tranny anymore, there history but in
there place is a totally new professionally built and installed 468 engine,
which is a 454 bored .30 over. This is new with about 300 miles since done.
The engine is built up with cam and has gear drive and some other internal
goodies but it's what is on top that counts which is a 671 Weiand fully
polished pro- street super charger blower assembly with dual Holly carbs.
This is the top of the line Supercharger
that Weiand makes for a big block chevrolet. The engine is pushing out 750+
car has a temp controled electric fan with a new radiator. The car also has
tranny cooler installed. Now the motor takes up so much room the heater box
had to be removed but, your not going to be drinving this kind of car in
any cold weather so out it came. Everthing on the motor and motor
compartment is polished stainless steel, aluminum or chrome. Every nut &
bolt, bracket, pulleys, throttle assembly, linkage, alternator, water pump,
master cylinder, power Booster, well
you get the idea. If anyone is interested please call me at 570-875-7109 to
see more picture and a full description. Thanks for your interest... Marty

Nova's blown 383
This is a blown 383 (706 hp) in a '67 Chevy Nova. This little video was
taken the first time it was cranked. Still not drivable yet, because it's
in the process of being tubbed right now. Gonna be a blast!!
UPDATE AS OF 11-14-07: All chrome, windshields, interior, etc. has been
stripped and the car is in the paint shop. We should have it back soon and
then it's on to upholstery shop. I took a couple pics of it yesterday and
it's lookin' good. It's a metallic tangerine/orange candy. GRAB YOUR
My excuse for the picture quality of the video is that I had a new digital
camera and didn't know much about how to work it yet.
