Less than 20,000 of these cars were built and this one has been restored to its original glory. Under the hood, rests the 287 CID V8 rated at 180 horsepower and 264 feet of torque, known as the "Strato Streak". This was Pontiac's first OHV engine design. These cars have a ton of character, style, and class and really stand out in a crowd. Options include power convertible top, AM radio, imitation leather interior, wide white wall tires, Pontiac hub caps, tissue box mounted under the dash, illuminated Indian Head hood ornament, and seat belts. In 1955, the cast of "I Love Lucy" drove to the west coast in a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief Convertible like this in the "California, Here We Come" episode. Four door hardtops started taking off in the mid 50's...they were still going strong at this point. It had the pillarless looks when all the windows were lowered, but not quite the sought after body lines of the two door version. This one is in really good shape!
