"Y-Gen 3rd Gen" Pontiac Trans Am V8TV
http://www.v8tvshow.com/forum - 16 year old kids are in a tough spot these days. We're not talking about the pressures of daily life and all that B.S.; we're referring to the fact that the kids who are into cool cars usually don't have the cash or the ability to get their mitts on a cool ride. Add to that un-sympathetic parents, and you've got millions of high schoolers rollin' beat up civics or other cheap junk. Dale Schwartz has a leg up, however, with his new project they're calling the Y-Gen 3rd-Gen. It's a Trans Am that's a full 7 years older than Dale, but he was able to build a car he wanted the way he wanted.
My Sons First Project Car - 1987 Pontiac Trans Am
I've been looking for a car for my son for a while now. He wanted something that he could fix up and keep for years. His dream car was a third generation trans am and that's exactly what we found. It's going to be a bit of a project, but that's what we wanted anyway. We plan to restore and modify the car and film videos of the progress along the way. The car is a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am with the LG9 5.0 TPI V8. The previous owner already added headers, a cold air induction setup, aftermarket distributor and coil, 2500 stall converter, TCI servos in the tranny, drag shocks, subframe connectors, boxed control arms, and more. Overall, we think it's a great base to start with. I hope you find it interesting...thanks for watching!
