Neil Gratton is doing a walk-through of the 2013 Toyota Highlander. Toyota has been producing the Toyota Highlander SUV since 2002. It underwent a major redesign in 2008. It has been one of our fastest growing vehicles on our lot. This was all accomplished with very little marketing from Toyota. Word of mouth is what is causing this vehicle to end up in more and more driveways in Alberta. The 2013 Highland fits nicely into the Toyota line-up as a natural step up from our RAV 4. IT comes in 3 models 4 cylinder front wheel drive, the 4 wheel drive V6, and the 4 wheel drive V6 limited.
Our 4 wheel drive models are definitely our best sellers here in Edmonton. The entry level 4 wheel drive V6 highlander is anything but basic it's great looking, seats 7, has plenty of great features, is great on gas, and starts at just under 36,000.
What I have here is our most popular model. The 4 wheel drive V6 with the sport package. The major factors that separate this one from the entry level package are the 19" tires and alloy wheels vs. this standard 17" tires and alloy wheels. 3 zone independent climate control vs. dual zone, heated black leather seats vs. cloth, and the power moon roof.
Look at the stylish appearance; the stance is aggressive, fog lamps are standard, colour keyed power adjustable heated mirrors tie in nicely with the body. The rear windows are tinted for privacy and are topped off with a body coloured spoiler.
The key-less entry faub allows easy access to each of the passenger compartment and the rear cargo areas. Either through the glass hatch or the power lift gate. This vehicle is powered by a 3.5 L V6 which generates 270 horsepower and 248 ft-lbs of torque. It can tow up to 5000 lbs. and is rated at 39 miles per gallon on the highway.
This vehicle is also filled with features on the inside. The standard audio system will play anything and will integrate easily with any of your personal listening devices. Controls are mounted on the steering wheel and blue tooth capability is standard so you won't be distracted in any way. A back up camera is integrated into the mirror for ease of parking and safety. Climate control also comes standard with this vehicle so all passengers can be comfortable and the driver gets an 8 way power seat. It is ideal for families as it is equipped with 7 seat belts 2 up front, 2 in the back, and 3 in the middle and it is rated as a top safety pick by the IIHS.
That is just the standard model. You can step up to the limited model and get even more features like premium JBL sound, voice activated navigation, smart key with push button start and much, much more. Once upon a time it used to be that family haulers came in very limited flavors but today family vehicle buyers can choose from mini van, SUV's Crossovers and even the Toyota Venza. Think of the Venza the offspring of a Crossover that fell in love and married a station wagon. The result is a roomy, sleek, buff and low family hauler with 20 inch wheels. The Venza's base 182-horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is just adequate to haul around the big-boned wagon. Neal: Hi, Neal here again from Gateway Toyota. Today I am excited to present to you, the all-new 2013 Toyota Venza.
The Venza is a luxury crossover that is now in its fifth year of production. It has quickly climbed the sales charts to become a big seller for Toyota in Canada, and I know from personal experience our customers who have purchased them, love them.
The Venza is available in a variety of trim levels with either a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder engine, and in front wheel or all-wheel drive. They start at under 30 grand and are all stacked with standard features.
Some exterior features standard to all Venza's include: fog lamps, foldable, power adjustable heated mirrors with puddle lamps, and built in blind spot convex mirrors. In addition to all those standard features I just pointed out, it offers the fuel efficient yet powerful 3.5 litre V6 which produces 260hp while getting 36mgp on the highway. Those units equipped with a V6 receive the 20 inch alloy wheels and are capable of towing up to 35oolbs.
This vehicle has an all-wheel drive drivetrain with an active torque control system for maximum stability. It has leather seats which are heated in the front and are now available in black for 2013. A back-up camera which is incredibly when parking the vehicle, a power lift gate and the panoramic glass roof; a feature many Venza owners really enjoy. All this for well under 40 grand.

2013 Toyota Highlander Limited
The 2013 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid models feature changes to standard and optional multi-media technology for 2013, with Display Audio made standard on Highlander, SE and Highlander Plus grades; the Highlander Hybrid now includes as standard Display Audio with Navigation and the Entune™ multimedia package.
The 2013 Highlander is available in Highlander, new Highlander Plus, SE and Limited grades with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD). A 270-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 is standard on the SE and Limited grades and available for the others. Full-time four-wheel drive is available on all V6 grades.

Most of our driving consists of highway/interstate or city driving so there is no extreme component to test for. This is not a drag racer so not 0 - 60 time trial - what matters is a feel, it's comfortable and we could just keep going. A car to live with day in day out. Good for long hauls of 8 hrs or more behind the wheel or 5 minute run to the grocery store.
After our drive in the 2013 Toyota Highlander we came away impressed thinking this could be the one..
