2010 Acura TL Tech Review, Walkaround, Exhaust, Test Drive
Meet Acura's previous best selling model, the TL. Hit with the ugly stick for the 2009 model year, it severely hampered sales of Acura once best selling luxury sedan in the segment. The 2012 refreshed helped to bring buyers back into showrooms however, with a next generation due for 2014. Acura really needs another home run, similar to what it got in 2004 with the new TL and TSX at the time.

Acura TL 2009-2011 review from Consumer Reports
The redesigned TL continues to have a well-finished interior and plenty of power. But it has less rear seat room and vague steering.

2015 ACURA TLX review: TLX SUCKS compared to TL
Acura replaces its compact TSX and midsize TL sedans this year, making room for the 2015 Acura TLX. The new model is about what you'd expect from the alphanumeric nonsense. The TLX is longer than the TSX but 3.8 inches shorter overall compared to the TL. It has the same wheelbase as the TL, however, but interior space is compromised. Taller/Larger drivers will notice this immediately. Its engine choices also split the difference between the TSX and TL. The base engine on the TLX is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 206 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The upgrade option is a 3.5-liter V6 (290 hp) with a nine-speed automatic. Acura projects an EPA-estimated 28 mpg combined for the four-cylinder and 25 combined mpg for the V6. Front-wheel-drive TLX models include Acura's new steering system that can adjust the angle of the rear wheels in turns for improved handling. All-wheel drive will be available only on V6 models. Four selectable driving modes -- Econ, Normal, Sport and Sport+ -- adjust steering effort, throttle response, shift timing and even noise cancellation, depending on mode. Acura's new Jewel Eye LED headlights come standard, as do a rearview camera and keyless entry and ignition. Camera and radar systems bundled into the Technology and Advance packages enable safety features like low-speed automatic braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. The TLX will also showcase Acura's latest interior comforts and technology, including heated and ventilated front seats, GPS-linked automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen display that controls 3D-view navigation functions, real-time traffic, a suite of smartphone-integrated apps and services ("AcuraLink") and a 10-speaker premium audio system. The Siri Eyes Free voice command feature is also available for iPhone users. #1 Our 2009 ACURA TL feels considerably more spacious and the materials feel of higher quality, even though the TLX offers "simplified" access to most tech features. Even then, the layout is a MESS. #2 Engine power isn't spectacular.
