Edsel Ford talks about Ford Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Car - 2013 Ford Fusion Stock Car

http://www.autobytel.com/ford Autobytel recently caught up with the one and only Edsel Ford II at the Ford NASCAR Championship Weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for a closer look at the all new 2013 Ford Fusion Sprint Cup race car. Mr. Ford tells us: "we are in Homestead Florida for the Ford Championship Weekend for the nationwide truck race and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race. As a matter of fact, Ford is in all series; we use the F-150 in the truck series, and we introduced the Mustang in the nationwide series just last year. Then of course we have the brand new 2013 Ford Fusion stock car which will be introduced in Daytona early 2013." Ford has worked very diligently with NASCAR and the other automobile manufactures to produce stock cars that look more like the cars that are sold at dealerships across the country. The new 2013 Ford Fusion looks more like a stock car than the previous model and NASCAR has been very good in regards to allowing the look of the race car to resemble the model on showroom floors. NASCAR racing fans are as loyal a customer as one can find. Ford finds (through research) that NASCAR lovers that are also Ford customers are very loyal. That is why Ford thinks racing is a good loyalty builder. Edsel Ford's father once said many years ago: "If you can win on Sunday, you can sell on Monday." Ford still believes that statement today even though it was said 40 years ago. See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/ Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

2013 Audi RS 5 Track Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/audi/rs-5/2013/ The 2013 Audi RS 5 is a great performing luxury sports car that is a true competitor to the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG. If this car proves to be anything close to the previous RS models it will be rare, collectable, and a great value with a starting price of under $70k. Anytime Audi manufacturers a vehicle with the letter "R" in the model name, you know the car is going to be a high performance machine. Think about the RS 4, RS 6, TT RS, and of course the legendary R8 are all great sports cars. What we have here for the first time ever in the U.S. is the Audi RS 5. This 2-door luxury sports coupe has a base price of $68,900. There are many ways the 2013 Audi RS 5 is distinguished from the A5/S5. The first thing you will notice is the massive front grille called the Singleframe grille with diamond mesh and Aluminum optic surround. Out back the Adaptive rear spoiler is unique to the RS 5. There are other exterior cues too but it's really what you cannot see like the shocks, springs, wheels, and engine that set this car apart from the rest. There are 3 different engine offerings throughout the range of Audi A5/S5/RS 5 family of vehicles. The A5 gets a turbocharged 4-cylinder, the S5 gets a supercharged V-6, and the RS 5 has a normally aspirated V-8. The engine powering the 2013 Audi RS 5 is a 4.2 liter V-8 that makes 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque. The only transmission offering is a 7-speed automatic with auto-shift. Fuel economy figures are 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. But the 2013 Audi RS 5 is not so much about horsepower as it is about performance in cornering and handling. The standard wheels on the RS 5 are 19-inch 10-spoke wheels but you can upgrade to 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275/30 series tires. Of course every Audi performance ride comes with the addition of Quattro all-wheel drive. What's unique about the Quattro system on the 2013 Audi RS 5 is that 60% of the power goes to the rear wheels and extra power can be applied to the outside rear wheel during cornering. The 2013 Audi RS 5 is far from disappointing. It reminds us of a more refined version of the RS 4 sedan that was out a few years ago in the sense that you have a great roaring V-8 motor with the legendary Quattro AWD system that vehicles like the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG do not have. What that does is make average drivers good and good drivers better. This car is a thrill to drive both on the track and around town thanks to all the refinements Audi has put into the RS 5. Ford Racing Shelby GT500 NASCAR Pace Car - Ridealong with David Ragan @ Homestead Speedway
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/shelby-gt500/2013/ Come join Autobytel for a ridealong with Ford Racing NASCAR driver and new car dealer David Ragan at the Ford Championship weekend at the Homestead Speedway in a new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. Stock out of the box, the Shelby GT500 comes packing some serious muscle. The supercharged 5.8 liter V-8 puts out over 660 horsepower and 630 lb-ft. of torque. That's more muscle than the Corvette ZR1, SRT Viper, and the Ferrari F458 Italia for just a bit over $54k! Ford says the Shelby GT500 is the most powerful production V-8 and the 200+ MPH top speed is easily the most out of any Mustang ever sold. David Ragan drives the Front Row Motorsports Number 34 Ford Fusion in the big show: the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. David's ties to Ford Racing deeper than his racing career thanks to the Ford Dealership he owns based in Perry Georgia. "Being a part of the Ford Family is a lot of fun, being a dealer in middle Georgia it's fun to talk to the customers and say hey, we have been racing the whole weekend and now here we are selling Ford cars on the weekdays. This allow us to tie that into the NASCAR program which gives us leverage versus some of the other dealerships in that area. Ford runs deep in our family. They run good on the racetrack and are great cars off the racetrack. We are proud to be a part of that. We sell a lot of F-150's, a lot of trucks, and a lot of Mustangs with the Roush packages. It's fun to come out and do events like this as we drive the pace car around Homestead Speedway." Next year there will be a new body style for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The 2013 Ford Fusion will lend its body style to stock car racing and the Front Row Motorsports car that David drives is going through a total redesign. His new ride will look very modern and slick while keeping the same look as the 2013 Ford Fusion car sold at dealerships across the country. The racetrack at Miami Homestead Speedway was reconfigured a few years back adding progressive banking. The banking on the bottom groove is now a little different that the bank at the top of the racetrack. Now drivers will be using the entire racetrack from the top to the bottom and that is one of the things that makes Homestead Speedway great. With new tires and especially at the beginning of the race you will see new guys dive to the bottom of the track. Once the tires start to wear out and you lose grip, the guys start to run a little higher on the track. The Ford Shelby GT500 Pace Car sticks pretty good. On the back straightaway the Shelby gets up to 135 MPH. Going into the corners, up by the wall, there is a lot more banking. Progressive banking is great for the fans and the drivers. 2012 Audi R8 V10 Spyder Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/audi/r8/2012/ The 2012 Audi R8 is considered one of the best supercars you can buy and is available in two distinct body styles, consisting of a coupe and a convertible which is also called the Spyder. There are 2 engine choices available: the 4.2 liter V-8 engine and the 5.2 liter V-10 engine. Base price for the 4.2 liter coupe is a reasonable $114,200 with the 5.2 liter Spyder tested here costing $162,700. And just so you know there is a $3000 gas guzzler tax on this vehicle. Choosing the car of the year list is hard work. When looking at the best convertible for 2012 the Audi R8 V10 Spyder; this car defines what a convertible should be. The R8 Spyder is definitely one of the sexiest cars ever created. There is no mistaking the rear of the Audi R8. You can see this car coming from a mile away. The only drawback with owning the Spyder vs. the coupe is that with the coupe model you get a cool engine cover that is clear. But with the Spyder, there needs to be a place to hide the folding top; thus the engine is hidden. Like most convertibles the Audi R8 Spyder is challenged for cargo space. You would be lucky to get 2 grocery bags into the front storage area. The 2012 Audi R8 V10 Spyder is powered by a 5.2 liter V-10 engine that produces 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft. of torque. The car rockets from 0-60 MPH in 4.0 seconds. In case you are wonder the Audi R8 V10 gets 13 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway.  Audi has always offered many advanced packages with their vehicles and the R8 has plenty of addition options you can purchase. For $9900 you can upgrade the brakes to a Ceramic Carbon set of high performance rotors and calipers. Or for about $8100 you can opt for the Carbon Fiber Sigma Exterior Package which adds a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser. On the inside the options include a carbon fiber dress-up kit. For $750 the R8 Spyder can be equipped with a set of cool white gauges. The 2012 Audi R8 is available with paddle shifters but the real driver's choice should be the gated 6-speed manual transmission. The Audi R8 Spyder is one of the best looking cars on the road. When you add in a huge 525 horsepower V-10 engine, the R8 transforms into a monster. 2013 New Ford Fusion NASCAR Stock Car

New 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car Brings the "Stock Car" Back to NASCAR New 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car Brings the "Stock Car" Back to NASCAR Click here to download related images. Ford Racing unveils 2013 Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup redesign at Charlotte Motor Speedway during NASCAR Media Tour. 2013 Sprint Cup car features full redesign by Ford designers to mirror 2013 Fusion production car and return brand identity to the track. New Fusion race car will debut at Daytona 500 in February, 2013. Reveal will be streamed live at www.fordracing.com and www.facebook.com/OfficialFordRacing. The 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup car, unveiled today as part of the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour, was worked on by Ford designers in an effort to bring brand identity back to the sport. The result is undeniable with the 2013 Sprint Cup car mirroring the recently unveiled 2013 Ford Fusion production car. Featuring a completely redesigned sleek new silhouette and fresh face, the 2013 Fusion Sprint Cup car was designed to be the face of a new era of stock car racing. "We wanted Fusion to be the car that helped return 'stock car' to NASCAR." stated Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. "I think fans, when they see the car, are just going to smile and cheer. It is going to reengage them with the sport and make the sport better because there is just something natural about seeing race cars that look like cars in their driveways." This marks the third time Ford simultaneously launched production and NASCAR versions of a new model. The first dual launch came in 1968, with the sleek fastback Ford Torino. Legendary NASCAR driver David Pearson drove the Torino to back-to-back NASCAR championships in 1968 and 1969. The second time came in 2006, when the then newly introduced Ford Fusion appeared in showrooms and on the track. Ford took a different approach with the development of the 2013 Fusion racer. Ford Design Center staff, led by Garen Nicoghosian, and Ford aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus, spent the past year doing the early design development, freeing up the Ford race teams to concentrate on weekly NASCAR competition. "This is a seminal moment in the sport where we had a chance to get it right once again and make sure the race cars are race versions of street cars. And I am proud because I believe we have accomplished just that," continued Allison. "The 2013 Fusion is a stunning car and the 2013 NASCAR Fusion is even more stunning and I can't wait to see it perform on the track and connect with race fans." Ford designers, led by Nicoghosian, addressed three main issues to mirror the 2013 Sprint Cup Fusion to the 2013 production Fusion found on showroom floors. Design Features of the 2013 Fusion Sprint Cup Car Designers addressed the overall proportion of the race car to reflect proportions found in the production Fusion. Brand and design cues in the side of the vehicle. An identifiable front end grill with the distinctive look of a Ford. "It looks fun to drive and very much eager to go and tear up the track. It has a very aggressive stance from the outside and the inside. From all angles the vehicle exudes performance and I think it reflects our general attitude of how we go about setting up our cars very, very nicely," said Nicoghosian. "It brings a certain level of nimbleness and lightness and agility to the NASCAR platform, much like we do in our production cars, because all of our production cars have that nimbleness and agility and eagerness about them." The new NASCAR Fusion entries will be tested throughout the 2012 campaign in preparation for their racing debut at the 2013 Daytona 500 in February.
