Edsel Ford talks about Ford Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Car - 2013 Ford Fusion Stock Car

http://www.autobytel.com/ford Autobytel recently caught up with the one and only Edsel Ford II at the Ford NASCAR Championship Weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for a closer look at the all new 2013 Ford Fusion Sprint Cup race car. Mr. Ford tells us: "we are in Homestead Florida for the Ford Championship Weekend for the nationwide truck race and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race. As a matter of fact, Ford is in all series; we use the F-150 in the truck series, and we introduced the Mustang in the nationwide series just last year. Then of course we have the brand new 2013 Ford Fusion stock car which will be introduced in Daytona early 2013." Ford has worked very diligently with NASCAR and the other automobile manufactures to produce stock cars that look more like the cars that are sold at dealerships across the country. The new 2013 Ford Fusion looks more like a stock car than the previous model and NASCAR has been very good in regards to allowing the look of the race car to resemble the model on showroom floors. NASCAR racing fans are as loyal a customer as one can find. Ford finds (through research) that NASCAR lovers that are also Ford customers are very loyal. That is why Ford thinks racing is a good loyalty builder. Edsel Ford's father once said many years ago: "If you can win on Sunday, you can sell on Monday." Ford still believes that statement today even though it was said 40 years ago. See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/ Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

2016 Kia Sorento 7-Passenger SUV Test Drive Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/kia/sorento/?id=32972 The 2016 Sorento is an all-new and completely redesigned version of Kia’s largest SUV. Kia is trying to make the 2016 Sorento a much more upscale and classy vehicle and it really shows in the interior design. This new wonderful interior really beats out expectations with higher quality materials. The Kia Sorento is a 7-passenger SUV but the rear 3rd row is still tight on space. The ride is firm and the steering is direct. Unfortunately the weather is an issue during this test drive evaluation. Overall the Sorento is a very nice effort from Kia and this SUV stacks up nicely against the competition. There are 3 different engine options on the 2016 Sorento. The first is a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 185 horsepower which is probably not enough for this large vehicle. The second engine is a 3.3 liter V-6 that makes 290 horsepower. There is also a new engine in the middle. The 2.0 liter turbocharged motor cranks out 240 horsepower which has better fuel economy than the V-6. You can get the Sorento equipped with FWD or AWD. Pricing for the new 2016 Kia Sorento starts just under $26,000 for the base 4-cylinder FWD model and the higher trims can max out well above $40k. At the low end, the Sorento is a great value for a roomy 7-passenger SUV. At the high end you begin to compete with more accomplished 7-passenger SUVs like the Toyota Highlander. Overall the execution is great. Video by Aaron Gold See More Car Videos http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/?id=32972 Join Our Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/autobytel

Ford Racing Shelby GT500 NASCAR Pace Car - Ridealong with David Ragan @ Homestead Speedway
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/shelby-gt500/2013/ Come join Autobytel for a ridealong with Ford Racing NASCAR driver and new car dealer David Ragan at the Ford Championship weekend at the Homestead Speedway in a new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. Stock out of the box, the Shelby GT500 comes packing some serious muscle. The supercharged 5.8 liter V-8 puts out over 660 horsepower and 630 lb-ft. of torque. That's more muscle than the Corvette ZR1, SRT Viper, and the Ferrari F458 Italia for just a bit over $54k! Ford says the Shelby GT500 is the most powerful production V-8 and the 200+ MPH top speed is easily the most out of any Mustang ever sold. David Ragan drives the Front Row Motorsports Number 34 Ford Fusion in the big show: the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. David's ties to Ford Racing deeper than his racing career thanks to the Ford Dealership he owns based in Perry Georgia. "Being a part of the Ford Family is a lot of fun, being a dealer in middle Georgia it's fun to talk to the customers and say hey, we have been racing the whole weekend and now here we are selling Ford cars on the weekdays. This allow us to tie that into the NASCAR program which gives us leverage versus some of the other dealerships in that area. Ford runs deep in our family. They run good on the racetrack and are great cars off the racetrack. We are proud to be a part of that. We sell a lot of F-150's, a lot of trucks, and a lot of Mustangs with the Roush packages. It's fun to come out and do events like this as we drive the pace car around Homestead Speedway." Next year there will be a new body style for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The 2013 Ford Fusion will lend its body style to stock car racing and the Front Row Motorsports car that David drives is going through a total redesign. His new ride will look very modern and slick while keeping the same look as the 2013 Ford Fusion car sold at dealerships across the country. The racetrack at Miami Homestead Speedway was reconfigured a few years back adding progressive banking. The banking on the bottom groove is now a little different that the bank at the top of the racetrack. Now drivers will be using the entire racetrack from the top to the bottom and that is one of the things that makes Homestead Speedway great. With new tires and especially at the beginning of the race you will see new guys dive to the bottom of the track. Once the tires start to wear out and you lose grip, the guys start to run a little higher on the track. The Ford Shelby GT500 Pace Car sticks pretty good. On the back straightaway the Shelby gets up to 135 MPH. Going into the corners, up by the wall, there is a lot more banking. Progressive banking is great for the fans and the drivers. Henry Ford II talks about the Edsel
The Edsel, the car that's become synonymous with automotive failures and terrible design was named after Henry Ford II's father, Edsel Ford, the long suffering son of the original Henry Ford. Edsel was known for his love of art and style and refinement. Unfortunately, his name will be remembered for this disaster. His son, Henry Ford II, sometimes known as "HF2" or "Hank the Deuce", was the oldest son of Edsel Ford and oldest grandson of Henry Ford. He was president of the Ford Motor Company from 1945 to 1960, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) from 1960 to 1979, and chairman for several months thereafter. His time at the helm was uneven. HF2's management style caused the company's fortunes to fluctuate in more ways than one. For example, he allowed the offering of public stock in 1956, which raised 650 million USD for the company, but the "experimental car" program instituted during his tenure, the Edsel, lost the company almost half that. Likewise, HF2 hired the creative Lee Iacocca, who was fundamental to the success of the Ford Mustang, in 1964, but fired Iacocca due to personal disputes in 1978 (about the break in their relationship, HF2 was famously quoted as saying, "Sometimes you just don't like somebody"). He formally retired from all positions at Ford Motor Company on October 1, 1982, upon reaching the company's mandatory retirement age of 65, but remained the ultimate source of authority at Ford until his death in 1987. Worst Figure 8 Crash @ Slinger Super Speedway Ever!!!!! 9/11/2011
This is a video of the worst figure 8 Crash Ever @ Slinger Super Speedway. Ryan Lovald just bought Shane the Shark Beckers car and this was the first race racing that car. Ryan Lovald hit Rick Bruskiewicz right behind the Right Front Tire and Ryan Rolls. BOTH DRIVERS WALKED AWAY. You can here a scream right as the hit happens. That was Nicki, Ryans Fiance. You can see a black smoking dot to the right of Ryans car as well that is his motor, the motor came out of the car. Ryan was wearing his INTERSECTION CONNECTION shirt he just made up as well. That was a connection. Ryans knee was hurting and Rick had a small cut. What happened with me in the race was going into turn 3, Bill Shavlik ran into me and knocked my car into neutral which you will here on the in car camera video, I then tried to move up the track to get out of the way and Scott Goetzke was going around me which I didnt see, We joked before the race about hitting eachother and me getting even from the beginning of the year, I never knew he was there. He then slammed me a few times before spinning out and hitting the rollover ramp. I would have done the same thing to him if the tables were turned there so I understood why he hit me back. I then pulled up next to him at the start finish line. We talked and I explained what happened in my car. Scott understood and we shook hands. No big deal there. Its funny now cause everyone thought myself and Scott were fighting but we were really just talking about what actually happened and getting on the same page. I want to thank everyone that was a fan of the cop car. I will most likely not be driving it next year and it is sold. I know pretty much everyone just likes the car and doesnt even know who I am so you will be happy to know it will be coming back as the cop car next year, just with a different driver. It was a blast and I might do this again in the future but for now I'm done. I want to thank my sponsors that have been with me from the beginning of me racing. Guerndt's Bar in St. Lawrence, Keiths Marina, Kettle Moraine Properties (Bob Hart) P.W. Walsh, Race and Street Graphics and Daves Lanes of Hartford. Figure 8's are a blast and it is a testament to the safety equipment in race cars that with a wreck like what happened in this video, they can walk away. Thank You again.... Brandon Wolf.
