oil change (shocking) after sitting for 50 years Ford Model A
I bought a 1930 Model A 5 window coupe all original except for a dropped
axle, a Mallory dual point distributor, some dual electrode spark plugs,
four blade radiator fan, 15" steel reversed center wheels with slicks and a
lawnmower fuel tank bolted to the dash (reasons to believe it was a hot
rod) it wouldn't turn over when I got it so I took the plugs out and poured
some Mistory oil in the holes and let it sit for a few weeks, I turned it
back n forth till I was able to give it a few full turns, checked the oil
level, put some gas in it, hooked up a battery and it turned over fine with
the starter but no fire, pulled out the distributor to find a home made
shaft extention that wasn't long enough so I rebuilt the distributor and
made a new shaft and rebuilt the carb and now it fired up! I called Adrian
to come over and check it out, he said it sounds good but don't try driving
it untill you change the oil, I drove it up and down the alley sinse the
oil look to be ok an at the correct level, called him again to let him know
how it went and the first thing he asked was, did you change the oil? so I
got to work took the drain plug out and oil dribbled out no matter what i
did it wouldn't drain out so I took the oil pan out and found the oil caked
at the bottom of the pan, lesson learned.... Always pull the oil pan OFF to
make sure you don't run your newly acquired Old motor with a pan full of
crud, I hope this helps,,, more videos of this model A to come so stay
tunned! thanks for whatching.
thanks for the great advice Adrian.

My 1925 Ford Model T - A Closer Look: Transmission & Clutch
Enthusiasts Website: http://www.fordmodelt.net/
Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/modeltford/
In this video, we take a detailed look at the Ford Model T transmission,
afterwards taking a look at the correct procedure for pulling away,
forwards and backwards, and also correct braking.
I imported my 1925 Ford Model T from the USA, not far from Detroit,
Michigan where it was built.
The Model T was manufactured between 1908 and 1927, and was know by various
names including Tin Lizzie, Flivver, T‑Model Ford, or just 'T'.
The Model T set 1908 as the historic year that the automobile became
popular. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the
car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this
was because of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production
instead of individual hand crafting.
On May 26, 1927, Henry Ford watched the 15 millionth Model T Ford roll off
the assembly line at his factory in Highland Park, Michigan.
