We were up at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park for SpeedVentures.com track days. Had a great time, as always. For those of you who have been curious, yes, apparently the Z4M is quite a bit faster than the old generation, despite having the same motor, similar suspension geometry, etc... I am driving the Z4M Coupe camera car. It is completely stock, including the tires which are thread-bare... The Z3M has the S54 engine, and is modified with headers, magnaflow Exhaust, software, Ground Control coilovers, and the "new Nitto race rubber". (I'm assuming he was referring to the Nitto NT01's. The Acura NSX also had sticky tires, and some other mods. You can see how he pulls on me on the straights, but the Z4M can easily keep enough speed in the corners to get a super nice exit speed out of turn 2 which allows me the juice to pass him on the 2nd straight. He DID NOT want to let me go... Maybe he should learn to keep up first! BMW POWER!!!

Up against a 370z. Not bad for a stock 370z. I didnt have any problems keeping up with it. We were going 2-3 seconds slower per lap compared to my normal times. Update: The M3 had cracked rear subframe, and loose ARBs up front. The handling was all over the place :(
