Roll Racing – 2JZ Mazda RX7 vs. Blown Cobra Mustang

April 28th, 2017

As much as I love, respect, and support my friends in the law enforcement community, if I am racing on the interstate and a cruiser pulls into my peripheral, I might draw up so tight that the seat cover would have to be surgically removed. My insurance guy would draw up even tighter. Not so on this night of roll racing action, when Dick Tracy pulls alongside and openly issues a challenge over the public address system. Seriously, have a look for yourself. After the customary meet-and-greet at the local filling station, our competitors pull onto the interstate (or whatever Read More

Outlaw Armageddon – BOOST12 Mustang Dominates Small Tire Class

August 24th, 2016

The BOOST12 Cobra Mustang (prepared by Dean’s Perfromance) is arguably one of the baddest street cars on planet earth, with a big block Chevrolet engine and a pair of turbochargers. Nevertheless, it runs in the small tire class of No Prep Drag Racing. That can make it pretty challenging to even get down the track without an incident, much less win a fat wad of cash ($20K today) by making it through the finals. It’s Outlaw Armageddon and, after a successful night of testing, round one at Thunder Valley Raceway Park begins with the BOOSTED12 Mustang going against a capable Read More

Mustang Cobra Attempts Takeoff

April 5th, 2016

This great looking Mustang Cobra nearly does airborne from the right lane during TX2K16 in Houston, Texas. The Medusa Cobra is campaigned by Voodoo Racing Innovations out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Voodoo specializes in turbocharged Ford projects but they are capable of wrenching anything. Despite several near catastrophic passes, Medusa manages to put down an 8.6-second pass at 162.8 mph. The Medusa’s engine block is a Ford DOHC 4.6-liter punched out to 5-liters with a set of Ford GT Supercar cylinder heads and an 88-millimeter turbocharger (running 27-pounds of boost). The combination is good for approximately 1,100hp and that is being Read More

Street Racing Madness – Mini Cash Days 2015

January 12th, 2016

This video documents a hot night of street racing that attracts a bevy (eleven to be precise) of racing beauties. There are imports and domestics; sedans, coupes, a station wagon, and even a pickup truck – but there can be only one winner. Everybody seems to be gunning for Skinny in the twin-turbocharged Fox Body Mustang. He’s making around 1,200hp and he is the odds on favorite. Among the gunslingers looking to lay down the gauntlet there is another Fox Body with a 408-cubic-inch Windsor engine and a 1,000hp white Camaro. There are so many elite competitors present that I Read More

-Wide Street Racing – GTO vs Vette vs Mustang

January 4th, 2016

This video brings you some outstanding roll racing between three extreme street machines. The first is a pristine orange 2004 Mustang Cobra with a Steggy ported blower, a full racing exhaust, and 100-shot of laughing gas. Next, we have an electric blue 2006 Pontiac GTO with a built 7.4-liter LSx engine and it’s making 580hp and 535-lb.-ft. of torque. Finally, there’s a red 2005 Chevy Corvette with a P1 Procharger, upgraded cylinder heads and camshaft, a full racing exhaust, and a 3600 RPM stall converter. One would anticipate the more radically modified Corvette whipping these other two pups but the Read More

Heartland Street Racing for Cash

September 4th, 2015

What’s better than some night time street racing? Well, that would be racing for cash prizes and good old fashioned Midwestern braggin’ rights. This video features some of the best heads-up street racing that you will ever see! The scene is set in the deserted streets of an industrial park. The hour is late and all of the familiar competitors (usual suspects) are on hand. Skinny is unloading his 1200hp Twin Turbocharged Fox Mustang off the trailer, there is a late model Cobra with a stock engine and cylinder heads and a 7875 turbo that claims 900hp, an 800hp turbocharged Read More

From the Dyno to the Dragstrip: 1100-HP Mustang Cobra

April 27th, 2015

Check out this awesome looking blue flamed 2003 Mustang Cobra. The Las Vegas based Voodoo Racing Mustang dominated the street car class and put a spell on me during this month’s TX2K15 down in Houston, Texas. If the paint job resembles a lightning strike, then what is under the hood certainly provides the thunder; the 4.6-liter V8 has factory four-valve cylinder heads, it is sans the Eaton roots type blower, and a 94-millimeter turbocharger now forces air into the intake. The owner/operator of this quick pony car estimated horsepower near 1300 but today’s dyno results flagged only 1100-horsepower. Nonetheless, it Read More
