Import Extravaganza – Foreign vs. Domestic Street Hits

August 8th, 2023

Tonight, we are jumping on the interstate (in Mexico) for some heads-up roll racing. Cars with 1,000+ HP are in attendance and prepared to throwdown in the cool night air. Grab ahold of something and hang on tight – it’s about to be pandemonium.

The first race of the evening is between a Toyota and a Ford.  A mid-engine roadster, the Toyota MR2 is outfitted with a K20 2.0-liter Honda engine (fully built) and a 7275 turbocharger. It can make approximately 1,000hp. This Toyota is rocking a sequentially shifted PPG Dogbox transmission. He will be rolling out against a Ford Mustang Fox Body equipped with a small block Ford motor, an 8896 turbo and a GM TH400 automatic transmission. This Fox Body can also manage 1,000hp. In multiple hits, the Toyota eats the Ford up like a Rottweiler on a Vienna sausage – quick and ugly.

For the next contest, we have an all-wheel drive Acura Integra with a 7275 turbo and a synchronized transmission. This tiny coupe is claiming 900hp. He’s going against a Gen VI Ford Mustang with a built motor (RPG connecting rods and pistons) and a pair of 6466 turbochargers. The combo is good for 1,200hp. Shifting duties are left to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This is a close race with the Mustang walking away near the end. Probably thanks to the 10-speed auto gearbox?

Tons more roll racing action on this one. Watch until the end.
