Sequentially Shifted 1986 Buick Regal – 1100+ Supercharged Horsepower

October 29th, 2021

Don’t get it twisted gearheads, this is not a Buick Regal Grand National. It’s even better! What we are looking at in this video is a race car built on a 1986 Buick Regal T-Type platform. The interior has been scrapped and replaced by exquisite stainless-steel sheet metal. This is some of the best fabrication work you’ll see anywhere (as noted by Shawn from Autotopia). Built strictly to go fast, this Buick has been outfitted with the best performance goodies that money can buy.

Under the hood is a supercharged LS motor (GM V8) capable of producing 1,176hp. Set back 10-inches from the factory engine position, it is mated to a PPG Dog Box sequential transmission. The rear end is a Curry (ford) 9-inch. This old Buick has an estimated top speed of 230 mph and it has actually seen 208 mph (in Mexico). Car owner Frankie says this “heavy pig” weighs in at approximately 3,800-pounds.

Wait until you see this thing on the street. This is the first time that I’ve seen Shawn with a fearful look on his face. Fast doesn’t even begin to describe what this Buick restomod is – prepare yourself to be impressed.
