Puerto Rican Half-Mile Airstrip Attack

March 28th, 2023

This video catches up with the 1320 crew in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico for the PR Half-Mile Airstrip Attack. Hundreds of the fastest vehicles in the world have gathered on this beautiful island to engage in a contest of pure speed. Shall we look in on the action on the Island of Enchantment and see if anyone can hit 250 mph?

The standing half-mile format is as follows: The racers pull to the line and stop. A race official gives the signal and the cars take off. This is not a timed event. Only top speed is taken into consideration. Unlike most half-mile venues, this course has a noticeable rise near the midpoint. Should be interesting.

Featured first is a Mitsubishi Mirage from mojito lab. It has been converted to all-wheel drive. Under the hood is a 4G63E four-cylinder engine with a turbo kit. Looks serious. Wow! The little import irks out a pass of 182 mph – fresh off the trailer. He hasn’t even turned it up yet.

Next up is a Nissan GT-R (R34) in Midnight Purple. He’s claiming 700hp. We will see what happens when the rubber meets the road. Lined up next to a boisterous Corvette, The Nissan cranks off a pass of 148 mph – and looks real good doing it.

Never mind the quarter-scale bread truck, these is a Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. Hexagonal exhaust and wheel openings are among the highlights but is it fast?
