Magnuson Swapped Corvette Z06 vs. Twin Turbo Mustang GT – 60-160 MPH Street Hits

August 24th, 2023

We caught up with our man Frank on the streets (of Mexico) tonight. He was weighing-in on an unusual occurrence in street racing. There were no less than ten vehicles gathered for a round-robin roll racing extravaganza to prove who is the king of the bakery. That’s right – it’s strictly roll racing from 60 to 160 mph.

First up is a contest between a Magnuson swapped Corvette Z06 and a twin turbo Mustang GT. Called the Silver Bullet, the Chevy is running a built engine and an undisclosed amount of nitrous. The twin turbo Mustang is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine is stock, but the transmission has been upgraded.

The cars pull alongside and reach 60 mph. Both vehicles accelerate and the Corvette rapidly pulls away. The Silver Bullet blasts from 60 to 160 mph in a flash to take the win. If this was a race to 200 mph, maybe the Mustang wins. You know what they say about ifs and maybes, though.

Next up is a hit between a pair of Mustangs. The camera car is running a stock motor with an F1A ProCharger and a built 10-speed automatic transmission. In the other lane is a Mustang GT with a built engine and a 3.8-liter Whipple blower. This was a close one. I’ll let you call it, but I don’t think either car got a whiff of 160 mph.

We got some imports rolling out for the next race. The action intensifies from here.
