Corvette Z06 (Nitrous) vs. Twin Turbo Coyote Mustang – Street Hits

June 24th, 2021

This video documents another installment in the timeless battle between Chevrolet and Ford. The Ford Mustang has been trying to gain ground on the Chevrolet Corvette since its inception in 1964. Alas, with some serious modification, this pony car can actually tangle with the flagship of the GM lineup. Take a look at what happens when they hook-up on the interstate (in Mexico).

The C6 Chevy Corvette Z06 begins with a distinct advantage over the Mustang in the form of a supercharged engine. The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the Z06 can churn out 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock trim (which this ‘Vette is not). In fact, this particular Corvette Z06 has been upgraded with a set of high-performance cylinder heads, a performance camshaft and a nitrous kit. Maximum output for this beast is undisclosed.

In the other lane is the Gen VI Ford mustang GT. From the factory, it comes well-heeled with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 capable of producing 460hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. To even the odds, this Mustang owner has added a pair of turbochargers to the already potent V8. A built Tremec T-56 manual transmission has also been substituted for the factory gearbox. You may also notice the eye-catching APR front splitter. It looks amazing! Again, maximum output for this Mustang is kept close to the vest.

Let’s race!
