Inside Look – 1000HP LMR C7 Corvette ZR1

February 21st, 2023

Finally being recognized as an international supercar, the Chevrolet Corvette is better than ever. Down in Houston, Texas, a firm called Late Model Racecraft (LMR) is kicking it up a notch above that. This clip takes us inside a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 build that delivers some big results.

The video opens with a baseline dyno pull to establish how much power the ‘Vette is making before any modifications are made. With it’s factory supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, this ZR1 posts maximum output readings of 650rwhp and 663 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s in line with factory numbers. A second dyno test and tune session will take pace after mods are completed.

Key modifications for the LMR 1000HP package include:

  • LT5 Custom Grind Camshaft
  • LT5 Double Valve Spring Kit
  • LT5 Hardened Push Rods
  • Billet Front Timing Cover
  • Double Roller Timing Chain
  • LMR 5-inch Titanium Cold Air Induction
  • Lower (Crankshaft) Pulley Upgrade
  • Gates Green Belt
  • Longtube Stainless Steel Exhaust Headers
  • Stainless Steel Mid Pipes
  • High-Flow Catalytic Converters
  • LMR Breather System
  • HP Tuners E99 ECM unlock
  • HP Tuners TCM unlock
  • NGK spark plugs
  • LMR Spark Plug Wire Set

After the parts are installed, and a second dyno pull completed, this ZR1 is ready for the street test and tune. Is that burning rubber that I smell?
