Camaro LT1 vs. Coyote Mustang – N/A Street Hits

July 13th, 2022

We are taking it back to the streets (of Mexico) tonight. It’s a rivalry that is as old as muscle cars themselves. Camaro versus Mustang – and both these bruisers are naturally aspirated (for a change). Let’s have a look at the cars before they roll out.

The Ford Mustang is running a 5.0-liter Coyote motor. With forged internals (connecting rods and pistons), the Coyote is considered the most reliable of all the modern Ford engines. The pony car featured in this video has been upgraded with a set of CJ (Cobra Jet) camshafts, a full accoutrement of bolt-ons and a weight reduction treatment. It also has skinnies in the front and drag radials on the rear. Shifting duties are handled via a 6R80 automatic transmission. Should be fast and reliable.

Equipped with a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine, the Camaro is ready to rumble. Unlike the Mustang, it has a manual transmission. This Chevy has been modified with a performance camshaft, aftermarket intake manifold, MSD ignition and a cold air intake. The Camaro is also running drag radials on the rear. No weight reduction for this heavy Chevy.

Time to get these two horses out on the street and let them run.
