Dodge Demon vs. Lambo Huracan – 800HP Drag Race

September 10th, 2020

Greetings drag racing fans and speed aficionados from every facet of humanity. Welcome to the Santa Margarita ranch for some head-up drag racing action on a closed course. Competitors for today include a 2019 Dodge Demon and a 2019 Lamborghini Huracan Performante. In the words of famed announcer Bruce Buffer, “Let’s get ready to rumble”.

The tale of the Dodge Demon is a simple one; it is bone stock. Of course, as the most powerful production car ever, it boasts some pretty impressive specs. Under the hood is a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 engine capable of producing 840hp (with the performance key and race gas). This is a rear-wheel coupe factory-built with drag racing in mind. The only down-side to this marvelous example of American performance is that it weighs in at more than 2-tons. Very heavy girl!

The Italian beauty weaves a slightly more complex tale. In stock trim, it comes with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that can make 640hp. This all-wheel drive, mid-engine supercar has been modified with a supercharger from VF Engineering. This mod adds approximately 200hp and a significant amount of torque. Oh, the Huracan weighs only 3,335-pounds and has a definite advantage in traction.

Time to line these two up and se where the pavement takes us.
