Nitrous Corvette Z06 vs. Dodge Demon Challenger

There is a battle brewing on the East Coast. Seems that a car called the Demon is building quite a reputation and Corvette owners in Lobster Land don’t like it even a little bit. Word is that some of these Demons are going to be competing at Cecil County Dragway. Maybe – just maybe – some of these ‘Vette owners will show up, as well. Let’s have a look.

Sure enough, there’s a pretty blue Chevy Corvette now.

The C6 Z06 is equipped with a stock bottom end LS7 (7.0-liter V8). On top are a set of RPM cylinder heads, RPM B3 camshaft, Mamo Motorsports valvetrain components, MSD ignition, and a Vararam Air Grabber intake manifold. Just to make sure that he doesn’t get gapped; there’s a Nitrous Outlet 150hp plate system.  The transmission (Level X 4L65E) and differential (Stage 4) are also by RPM.

So, where’s this Demon we been hearing so much about? The Demon comes built to race from the factory with an 840hp 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8. This thing comes with drag slicks and even a set of skinny front tires in the trunk. A tool kit and floor jack are also included. They say this Mopar can tote the front – right outta the box. Guess we’ll see tonight.

In the first heat, we have the Blue Z06 in the right lane against a Gray Demon (homemade seat-delete) in the left. As advertised, the Demon totes the front and spanks the ‘Vette.

Lots more drag racing on this one.
