The Most Disturbing Demon in Existence

February 23rd, 2022

Brace for impact, my Ford purist friends. You are about to witness what can only be described as a very disturbing piece of machinery. From a distance it looks like a 2012 Ford Mustang, but as you get closer, you notice an unmistakable fender logo near the engine compartment. Could it be? Is that a Hellcat/Demon logo on this Mustang? Say it ain’t so!

As the hood is slowly opened, the terrible secret is revealed. Tucked neatly between the fenders of this pony car is a twin turbocharged HEMI V8. It’s a 6.2-liter with a factory crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons. The cylinder heads are from TTEC and the camshaft is custom. The Demon supercharger has been replaced by a Plasmaman intake manifold. A massive pair of Boost Lab 7675 turbochargers fill out the remainder of the engine bay. The transmission is an FTI Powerglide. Maximum output is estimated to be in the 1500whp range.

This ghoulish creation is every dedicated Ford lover’s worst nightmare, but can it get from A to B? Let’s find out.

The initial pass results in a DQ after the car gets sideways coming out of the hole. Big whoops there. Luckily, no crash.

A lane change nets an improved result on the next pass. The DemonStang posts a 7.68-second pass @ 169.24 mph. That’s pretty stinking quick for a ‘Demon’ in the quarter-mile.

The third pass is even better, yielding a 7.67 @ 163.5 mph.

Tons more drag racing on this clip.
