Super Supra Drags – TX2K20

April 18th, 2020

Before everything went off the rails due to the COVID-19 virus, there was a little event down in Texas that attracted some outstanding automobiles. Among them were some of the baddest Toyota Supra entries ever. Here is an in depth glimpse into two of the premier builds on-hand.

Jack Couto’s Supra (Black) is controlled by a Haltech Elite 2500 ECU (tuned by Chris Delgado). Under the hood is a Mazworx billet engine block (2JZ) and it is topped with a Mazworx billet cylinder head. A 102-millimeter turbocharger (80 psi of boost) handles forced air induction duties and an ATF transmission takes care of shifting. This car can produce 2,016whp. The Couto Racing Supra is the fastest (quarter mile) IRS (independent rear suspension) Toyota Supra on the planet. In this video, Jack lays down an elapsed time of 6.807-seconds @ 198.6 mph in the quarter.

The Buck Lemoine Toyota Supra (Blue) is powered by a 3.2-liter (cast iron block) 2JZ engine with a ProMod 94-millimeter turbocharger (48 psi). It has a Powerglide transmission and a Haltech 2500 Race Expansion Module (also tuned by Delgado). The combination is good for 1,600hp.

Check out the rest of the drag racing action, and a dyno pull from the Couto Racing Supra – all on this video!
