Rolling Coal – World’s Fastest Diesel Drag Truck

February 27th, 2021

Congratulations are in order for the Firepunk Diesel Drag Truck team. The Firepunk crew managed to get their Cummins diesel-powered 2000 Chevrolet S10 Pro Stock truck into the history books by posting an eighth-mile pass of 3.988-seconds @ 182.67 mph. While that might not be good enough to win the event, it is good enough to set a World Record for a diesel-powered dragster.

Competing in the Radial Versus the World Class at 2021 Lights Out 12 (South Georgia Motorsports Park), the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel-powered S10 accomplished a feat that was unheard of a mere decade ago. Developments in clean burning diesel propulsion are truly amazing. Firepunk barely managed to get into the 3’s this weekend, but there is no predicting how far this team will advance clean burning diesel performance in the years to come.

The Radial Versus the World Class is loaded with hard-hitting muscle cars that routinely run in the mid 3-second range – on radial tires. That makes for some interesting video content. Check it out.
