Ride Along – 450HP Supercharged Cop Car

December 24th, 2020

Time to hit the streets for a ride along in a modified Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor called Casper the Ghost. Barney Fife ain’t got nothing on this guy. He’s rocking a stock 4.6-liter modular motor with a Vortech supercharger and intercooler setup. Even though the blower is only set to produce 8 psi of boost, this big sedan is getting the ponies to the ground via a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission (Center Force dual-friction clutch), and the lower gear ratio helps to come off the line like a bullet. Maximum output is estimated at 450hp. That’s double the factory performance. This cruiser won’t win a ton of drag races, but it’s a lot of fun on the streets.

Suspension upgrades include Ridetech fully adjustable coilover shocks on all four corners, beefed up anti-sway bars and stiffer trailing arms. The car is also corner balanced. The wheels are powder coated Mustang GT “fan blades” wrapped in Nitto rubber. This should be the best handling police car in existence.

Brake upgrades include a set of Wilwood calipers and ventilated rotors in front; with Hawk performance pads in the rear.

This vehicle was modified by Joe Sabella from ADTR Performance in sunny Simi Valley, California.
