Mustang GT500 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo S – Street Hits

July 18th, 2023

We are taking it back to the streets (of Mexico) tonight for some high-spirited roll racing. A pair of unlikely competitors will square off in a contest of speed and acceleration that will initiate at 60 mph and continue until the victor reaches 160 mph. Hold on to your hats.

On the right is the orange Ford Mustang GT500. As the flagship of the Mustang lineup, the GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that can produce 760hp at peak RPM. In stock condition the Mustang GT500 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.4-seconds @ 132 mph. The GT500 featured in this video has been upgraded with catless exhaust downpipes, a reduced supercharger pulley and an E85 tune. This thing sounds like a big dog.

In the other lane is a Porsche 911 Turbo S. A very bad girl, the mid-engine Turbo S utilizes a twin turbocharged 3.7-liter flat six to muster 640hp (stock). Car and Driver Magazine claims that the Turbo S can rocket from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2-seconds and eclipse the standing quarter-mile in 9.9-seconds @ 138 mph. The Porsche seen in this clip has been modified with high-performance exhaust downpipes and aftermarket intake manifolds. It has been tuned to burn 93 octane pump gas.

Let’s get these thoroughbreds on the interstate and see who has the goods.
