Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye vs. Mustang GT – 60 Rolls

November 18th, 2022

It’s about to go down on the streets of Old Mexico tonight. We have a grudge race between a Charger Hellcat Redeye sedan and a Mustang coupe. These two competitors are set to throwdown in a series of roll races initiating at 60 mph. Let’s check out the machines.

The Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. Capable of producing an impressive 797hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque, the stock Charger Hellcat Redeye can blast through the quarter-mile in 10.2-seconds @ 135 mph. It can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.5-seconds. The car in this video has been modified with an aftermarket cold air intake and a catalytic converter delete kit to decrease exhaust restriction. Looks like the suspension has been lowered as well.

The S197 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT comes with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine that can churn out 412hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. That seems a bit anemic compared to the Mopar, but the Mustang weighs less and has a more aggressive gear ratio. In factory condition, the Mustang 5.0 GT can turn the quarter-mile in 12.2-seconds @ 126 mph (manual transmission) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5-seconds. The pony car in this clip has been altered with a performance camshaft, a Cobra Jet intake manifold and a set of exhaust headers. It’s also tuned to burn E85 fuel.

Don’t look now, but these two cars are hitting the freeway. Let’s catch up.
