7.0-Liter Magnuson Corvette Z06 vs. Tesla Model X Plaid

August 9th, 2023

Hooking up tonight, we have a profoundly modified Corvette Z06 rolling against a stock Tesla Model X SUV in Plaid mode. The Corvette is all about fossil fuels while the Tesla is motivated with electric energy – also made with fossil fuels. Let’s kick the tires on these two rides.

The ‘Vette has been upgraded with an all-aluminum 416 cubic-inch LS7 V8 motor. The factory supercharger has been tossed for a Magnuson blower. The nitrous will not be used for this contest. This rear-wheel drive Chevy is a beast.

Generating more than 1,000hp in stock trim, the all-wheel drive Tesla Model X is not your average golf cart. It utilizes a lithium-ion battery pack and a trio of electric motors to cruise through the quarter-mile in 9-seconds and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2-seconds. Nevertheless, this SUV will have a hard row-to-hoe against this monstrous Z06.

We are roll racing on the interstate (in Mexico). As these two vehicles reach 60 mph, the call rings out 3 -2-1 and all heck breaks loose. The Tesla jumps early and lunges ahead slightly. This proves to be an effort in futility as the mighty Chevrolet hawks him in rapidly and bastes him with a thick coating of gap sauce. Corvette FTW.

This may have been a better race from a dig. We’ll never know.
