Kong Ported Corvette ZR1 vs Tesla Plaid – Street Hits

August 23rd, 2022

From the mean streets of Old Mexico, we have a contest between representatives of past and future. The Corvette ZR1 is all about perfecting the gasoline burning internal combustion engine and sending power to the rear wheels. On the other hand, the Tesla is getting it done with all-electric and all-wheel drive. In a dig race, the Tesla Plaid is hard to bet against. Tonight’s roll racing format definitely evens the odds a bit. Let’s get to it.

The (stock) C6 version of the Corvette ZR1 utilizes a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine to generate 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. This particular example of the Chevy flagship is far from stock. It has been modified with a Kong ported blower, a set of enhanced cylinder heads and a performance camshaft.

The bone stock Tesla is charged to approximately fifty-percent. A trio of powerful electric motors and all-wheel drive permit the Tesla Plaid to deliver 1,000+hp to all four corners instantaneously and with a consistent degree of traction. From the factory (with full interior, a/c, audio, etc.) the Tesla Plaid can turn the quarter-mile in about 9-seconds flat. That easily beats any muscle car of the 60s and 70s. Even more amazingly, it does it in virtual silence.

This is going to be a good, close race. Check it out.
