2017 Holden Commodore – 815HP Street Sleeper

September 7th, 2021

You gotta love a car that looks grandma and runs like a gazelle. This 2017 Holden Commodore (Chevrolet SS) provides the perfect platform to build a street stunner. Let’s kick the tires on this sedan and see what makes it stand out from the crowd.

The 2017 Commodore rolled off the assembly line with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine rated at 415hp and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. The big V8 in this unit is mated to a 6-speed Tremec manual transmission.

Car owner Joe has built on the stock foundation by sending the supercharger out for some expert porting at Kong Performance. It also has a supercharger pulley upgrade. The camshaft has been swapped to a Brian Tooley Racing Stage 2 thumpstick with titanium pushrods, springs and rocker arms. The exhaust system includes ARH 2-inch headers with 3-inch catless downpipes. The supercharger heat exchanger has been upgraded to a larger unit. The clutch has been upgraded to a McLeod dual-disc and the car is burning E85.

When all the math is done, this inconspicuous looking sedan is making 815whp as he is breaking hearts and blowing minds at Powercruise USA.
